0. phoneArena 31 Oct 2013, 02:31 posted on

You may not know this, but Android 4.4 KitKat has been on our radar for a looong time. Of course, back then we referred to it as Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and we were initially audience to what turned out to be some wildly inaccurate speculation, claiming that it'll hit the industry as early as February/March...

I see you can predict the future. Please tell me the lottery numbers and I will buy you a brand new android phone every month for the rest of your life. Beside that you should learn that in this world and on this planet earth not everyone shares your opinion and taste. And thats a great thing. What you want is monopoly of android dominating the mobile OS which is a bad thing for innovation. Having competition from iOS and windows phones is great for everyone. But it looks like you prefer in a world of no decisions and living under the same thing. I remember that kind of thinking some old German dude shared it and killed millions of people trying it. Good luck.

To be honest there is imessage, facetime, and other things like printing, send files through airdrop, and one of the most important that my android phone failed to do is share a video through mms, android does not compress the video for sharing, and that is a problem sometimes. Wp8 and IOS can do it, why cant android, you have to use mms option before recording and that is a hassle, something that should have been addressed a long time ago, and surprised it hasnt.

That whole able-to-run-on-older-devices-with-512MB-ram is just speculation. We'll see when the official release and press conference is live.

#7 reads
"Well since I am on Android 4.3 at this moment & I read that this NEW OS will actually perform GREAT with 512 MB of RAM that's already a plus & a WIN over iOS 7.

iOS 7 on my Mother's Apple iPhone 4 is more than less desirable, if you get my drift.

Android 4.4 will do more than iOS 7 could ever imagine & still work EXTREMELY well on older devices. That's is a total WIN. Apple can't say the same with iOS 7, that's for sure."

So you just took him saying that Android 4.3 is better than IOS7 ALL THE WAY to Hitler murdering people?

Are you insane?

What's your stance on Xbox One vs. PS4?

I gotta say I'm not liking the changes :( I wish I could just get the performance enhancements and keep my current JB UI look.

Yup. The only thing I'm worried abt is if nexus 5 will have better battery or not. From the rumors- 2300mAH is bad :( I would upgrade ofcourse if it's still 2300mAH but I wish it was better.

I worry about that as well. Why wouldn't it have 3000mah battery in it? Hopefully the rumor isn't true.

Most of the changes that leaked are fake, or old tests they made. It will not be that ugly!

The sad thing is, you wait until next year before you experience it in your sgs4, when sgs5 is already unveil and/or release.

Can't wait for more info. I'm still on my Droid Razr Maxx. Hopefully the N5 will be my next phone if VZW gets its act together. If not, then I'm switching carriers.

Dude, I'm still sitting on my Droid 3, with its cracked screen and seizuring failing processor, just holding out for some good news, hoping the nexus 5 gets released on verizon. I am one of the few remaining people grandfathered in with verizons long gone unlimited data that I've had for 6+ years, and I really don't want to switch carriers, but if it comes down to it I may just have to follow my sweet n5 elsewhere

LOL!! I am also grandfathered with VZW unlimited data. That's why it will be extremely hard for me to switch carriers. But like you, if the N5 is impressive to me once the details are unwrapped, i will have to jump ship.

Something is always taken away fronm nexus phones. Look at N4; camera. N5 (rumours); smaller battery, lower camera MP. Why can we not have the same hardware that is premium at the time of release?????

Coz Nexus series are never meant to be premium model and top of the line smartphone. Its meant for developer to develop apps and test on the phone.

Turns out my family wants to switch to AT&T for completely unrelated reasons, just in the nick of time! And it was my bday recently, so I'm getting a phone as a present, I wonder what I'll be getting...
