Android 4.3 spotted for Motorola Moto X; leaked version of firmware is far from final

0. phoneArena 22 Sep 2013, 10:52 posted on

An incomplete version of Android 4.3 has been leaked for the Motorola Moto X; while it has been posted on XDA Developers Forum, this version of the firmware should not be loaded on your Moto X unless you really, really know what you're doing. Unlocking the bootloader on the phone, even with help from Motorola, can lead to the voiding of your warranty and the bricking of your phone...

Just Skip 4.3 and jump straight to 4.4, Moto..

I know right? I have a Droid Ultra and I was thinking the exact same thing. Pretty crappy how poorly Google has supported Motorola after the acquisition.

Why'd you buy the ultra instead of the X?

I'm sure Moto will dish out 4.4 pretty quickly like they did with 4.3 so bring it on.

You have confused this article with something else. I, too, got fooled. This article mentions 4.3 not 4.4. Surprising that phonearena still doesn't have an article on that.

Most excellent. I'm sure they'll have the update completed in short order. The last time an update was leaked for a Motorola phone (2.3 for the Droid X) the final version came out a month or two later.

Also good to hear they are working on improving the camera.

This is Verizon we're talking about no? I just hope Moto X users get updates in a passable timeframe, considering it's literally 95% stock.

Btw, definitely a avid supporter of the Moto X as of 09/21/2013. Screen is beautiful and the notifications...!

Oh, did you get it? I agree on both counts, and the performance has been completely snappy too!

Also loving the battery life. 46 percent after 10 and a half hours is nothing to complain about on my Droid Mini considering my rooted Atrix would be scraping bottom right about now.

I can't wait to get the 4.3 update for my Droid Mini, considering the only thing really separating the new Droid series and the Moto X in terms of software are a few icons and widgets, we shouldn't have to wait long.

Also, the new OTA update for the Moto X at T-Mobile (not to 4.3) MAJORLY improves the camera;

The new Droids should see this improvement soon, maybe incorporated into the 4.3 update. It's nice to see Motorola is proving it can have a nice camera on their newer devices.

I've just been reading that article. A certain anti-Motorola troll is likely seething that the company he hates has put out a major software update less than a month after launch.

I personally can't wait until that new update comes to the Droid Mini. I almost don't want to use the camera until then.
