Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ported to the Nokia N9

While Android high-ends are still waiting to get an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Nokia N9, of all smartphones, has been hacked into running the latest version of Google's platform. Interesting, yet not all that surprising achievement, since the handset was given a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich back in March...

android can be ported on any hardware platform. Can WP and IOS be ported on any hardware platform? the power of Linux, the power of choices............

The fact that Android (Linux) can be ported comes for the fact that its open-source ... And that's not the power of Linux that's just a feature that other OS don't provide! As a Ubuntu user, i can say Linux is the best thing that happened to OS's! It's powerful, easy, you get full access, full controll of your Pc... "sudo -i" FTW!!!

linux is the most unfriendly OS ever made if u are talking about normal user its too complex and almost takes 4x times to do things that can be done on windows instantly. If developers are targeted then its their first choice othervise normal users say Linux is pathetic.

and yes i tried ubuto10.10 and it was my worst experence at office it almost forced me to leave the company till they realized that is going wrong way and i was more then happy to leave this OS for good seriously nothing can be done in simple way sudo sudo sudo enev installation of the OS is combersome and all basic things need to be indivusualy installed.compared to windows linux is HELL windows provide pure stragiht forward interface wide software availabilty for developer suits and i was like WTF when i found linux C/C++ compiler is standalone and it dont enev provide debugiing mode or step by step debug like any software suit of windows proivde. dont looks Easy to me as u are saying

Yes, and it makes Nokia hardware look awful!
Thank you, Nokia, for rejecting the puke OS that is Android!

Where'd you get the idea that they genuinely hate nokia for one thing? And secondly for something so stupid? Don't take internet pissing contests so seriously.

Android fans don't hate Nokia, they hate its progress in software development.

I think there should be a CyanogenMod for the N9
8. aaronkatrini (Posts: 237; Member since: 06 Jun 2012)
I'll get a summer job to buy a N9 if CyanogenMod decides to develop for N9!!!

If Nokia thinks of android like they did with windows phone I'm sure they can make amazing phones

I I am correct one of the Primary REASONS Nokia went to Windows 7 and 8 series
smart phones was because there were so many smart phone manufacturers producing
Android smart phones that Nokia Officials decided to be different and go with Windows
7 series and 8 series smart phones. if the windows smart phones sales had been better
Nokia would not look like an under dog now. One thing for sure windows Phone "8"
is a totally different kind of smart phone because it uses the same advanced Windows "NT" operating system as Windows Desktop, Laptop, Server, and Tablet Computera and folks because of this it will be around a long long time even if the public does not buy Windows smart phones. This is Microsoft's working out their dream of a Unified OS

I loved Nokia for more than 10 years. I now hate Nokia after I bought N9 to my daughter. It looks beautiful but without life. It is a dead phone.
