Ya, Sony brings out single core devices when Samsung is introducing dual cores. Same as when Samsung gets out quad cores they introduce dual cores. That's why their 2011 devices wont get JB while Samsung's device will... Sony is falling far behind in the Tech world. People compare Xperia S to the SGS2. They don't notice that the devices are released almost year apart. If you wanna compare the 2012 Xperia devices, Compare them to Samsung's 2012 devices for a fair competition!!!

Yes therefore Samsung is in no way better at Sony at updates.

You said and I quote "What does Sony do for it's customers?"

They are delivering updates the best they can because of their HARDWARE limitations.

The fact that Xperia S is compared with GS2 is because they are in the same price bracket. Yes, Xperia S is one year late, but Sony is selling it at the same price as the gs2 with better feature.

Umm, comparing two different products with different price tags are things that you don't do while writing a review. I can compare lets say Vaio Z with top config with a compaq low end. Cause Vaio is going to win because they are priced differently... -_-'

WTF ? Listen I'm with Xperia S , my father has xperia arc s , yes there was a problem with the 4.0.3 then they upgraded it to 4.0.4 less bugs and lag and then a new vers. of 4.0.4 no bugs and lags ! Now my father's arc S runs smooth and fast WITH NO PROBLEMS l also i installed him an Xperia S launcher and now it works flawlessly ( without rooting, the launcher is non-root , its the official one not theme ) :) so F you !

User experience and build quality is important and designs of sony are better. Also, higher specs don't always equal better ux. Just saying.

The fact that Sony upgraded all the 2011 smartphones is good and true but not updating them to 4.1 which is a contemporary update for devs. isn't good..

what a super joke Sony!! Is this what I waited to hear from you and Is that why i waited so long with my Xperia S even though super shots like S3,Note 2, One X and Optimus G released? what in the world takes so long to update to JB? Its not a whole new system like ICS. Its just has some improvements. Oh Sad, I came from S2 and I am worried if it will get JB before Xperia S. You disappointed me. I am really thinking is this the time to change to a new eco system. Android is so so boring with this senseless update policies. I just updated my IPOD touch 4g to 5.0 and 6.0 without hassle and without delay. You guys need to learn.

Mines is near 2 years old, so upgrade soon anyway. For those people who still have a year left on their contract, use XDA.

XDA is the reason why I chose andriod, the freedom to do whatever you want to your phone! :d

I'm gonna get a Nexus device next time. I'm starting to get sick with all these OEM-skinned Android phones, I don't care who gives the best customer service and experience, they're all the same, they'll always ditch a device with their lame excuses.....

only 3 of htc device will get jelly bean and the time is in2013(not announced even),lg is worse than htc in update, samsung will update some of device but i am sure those handset which not get ics will not recive jelly bean or if get they will get in mid 2013,(i am sure only note,s2 ,s3,note 2 and tabs will get and note and s2 will get in 2013),so why u treat like children? i myself not happy to hear these news but think fairly and look to other manufacture list and time then argue with sony. i hope sony launch 4.1 fot T and TX,V and S sooner.just this and not argue with sony

Sony is pretty clear on NOT supporting their phones on Android version upgrades.

this happens when u launch soo many handsets in a year . and u can't able to devlop software for every different handset ..... that is probably the main reason behind not upgrading to 2011 xperia ,they have no time for old once :(

Still think Sony has probably offered a better Jelly Bean update path than any other manufacturer to date, people shouldn't really expect phones that will soon be ending on 2 year contracts to be supported to be fair, and lets remember Sony is releasing Yuga and Odin in March time with Jelly Bean on!

By the time Sony starts seeding JB, Google would have released Key Lime Pie or whatever that s**t is.

I wonder if there ever is going to be an OEM which manufactures phones with latest hardware and software, supports all of its devices for a minimum of 2 years and rolls the updates within two-three months of its release by Google, has a
