SDK for Android version 1.6 has just been released and the functions available to developers look quite promising indeed...

i'm seriously starting to get excited! when android was first released i had such high hopes, but those hopes were quickly crushed with the lack of devices and seeming lack of interest. all of that is starting to change now! i'm really looking forward to testing out the hero when it comes out with sprint next month and if all goes as planned, purchasing the phone the same day! :)

i was told by a friend who works at google to hold on on buying the Touch Pro 2 (verizon) so that i could make sure i didnt like the Motorola Sholes better. He told me the new version of Andriod will probably change my mind and make me grab the Sholes. So i will be waiting to compare the WM6.5 TP2 vs. Sholes.

really Seth? You're going to wait and see which is better? Android omgwtfpwns the hell out of WM. Go for the Sholes man, dont waste your time and money on WM.

yea i'm leaning towards it

i agree 100%. WM is a horrid platform over all. Ive had wm, bb, and i now use a mytouch.. i will NEVER own a windows phone again unless they change a few dozen things. this android based Mytouch is fantastic though. I cant wait till the 1.6 updates come out. What they need to do is take the TP2 form factor and put android on that, with a big fat battery. that would be a near perfect phone. the only downside i have w/ android, is its not nearly as stable as a trusty blackberry as many apps tend to fail, but android market has a wonderful auto-check4updates system in place to make sure ur DLs are always current.... its still 100x more stable than a windows phone.
