Analysts think the iPhone 6 could be priced higher

0. phoneArena 20 Nov 2013, 16:30 posted on

The rumor mill has been buzzing about the potential of a new larger iPhone on the way next year. The reports have varied, but it seems clear that Apple is at least testing various device sizes ranging from about 4.5-inches up to around 6-inches. The current thinking is that Apple may release two new iPhones next year - the iPhone 6 and the so-called iPhablet...

complain about the price but someone out there like me is still going to buy that smartphone that you say is overpriced, that's just how it works. Welcome to the world

Unlikely, if Apple want a greater market share in 2014 and 2015.

From worldwide market share of 36% in 2011 to 14% in 2013.

I don't think they are in a position to increase prices. But Apple being Apple profit margin might rules it all.

Well that is largely because the market expanded and Apple's share didn't increase much. But market share doesn't help them and so they do not have to focus on that. They will increase margins and expect the larger iPhones to be priced higher and the 5s to get the 5c treatment. They won't add anymore "premium" anything to the phones to preserve margin. Expect the same crap as usual, because Apple only "innovates" in one thing every generation. This time it is likely going to be RAM and screen size (maybe camera). It is all about money now, at least under Jobs it was also about nice pieces of tech.

Might as well be, the so called low priced, budget iPhone 5c.....is a joke of a price. I guess the price of the 5c is a budget phone in Apple's eyes.

Oh....just read Tim Cook said it was never supposed to be a budget phone. An older, 2 year old phone ...the 4S..is their budget phone...who woulda thunk it.

Here's how Apple can get my money: The A8 processor must match the Snapdragon 805 in terms of GPU, and the screen must be made of sapphire.

Apple products are just too over priced, come to think you get better hardware from other android flagship for lesser pricing!!! I used to own an iphone 4s yes it was a good experience but my experience was limited, I'm allowed to do lesser than i want
! I subsequently delete other app for memory issues, I'm also unable to share those beautiful moments i had on camera with my family via Bluetooth i have just a single major way of getting music onto my device!!! Iphones are just too over priced.

Also, why not, she can get famous and get a big role in Hollywood. Like Paris Hilton and many others starts, that leaks theirs own sextapes freely and earn alot of dollars. :))

So turn off the auto photo backup to the cloud. Or just don't turn it on. I suppose icloud is "safer"? LOL

You can also share photos via any app that is installed on the phone or transfer via NFC (I know iphone-followers haven't heard of that yet since apple hasn't invented it yet), bluetooth, or hey, get this, just plugging in my phone to a USB port and copying it without needing to open a separate program...

The iPad mini 2g was just apple playing catchup to the nexus 7 2013. If you factor in price apple is still behind.

The iPhone 6 is apple trying to catch up on the screen size.

Apple lost $40,000,000,000 in market cap when they announced the 5s and 5c. That's how much confidence investors have in apple products. Negative forty billion dollars worth.

In 5 years time people will look back and cringe on how much they paid for the pathetic icrap.

Apple eat too much and fell asleep, allowing Samsung to overtake them.

I see Samsung bringing out a lot of high end phones in 2014/15 however I think they will also end up being greedy and over pricing their phones.

Windows/Nokia will overtake Apple in mobile market share in 2015 and then overtake Android between 2018 and 2020

Sammy do already over priced theirs devices and theirs tablets cost even more then Ipad Air.
Bought Note 1 for 900US and Note 2 same around 900US, both at release day and Note 3 cost the same. But this time I didnt bought it, not much change and wait for Note 4 instead. :)
But this is how it happens, when there are no competitors that can make good devices as they do and can price whatever they want. Like Intel domination over AMD.

Now look at this....

Some things Jobs said ppl didnt want....ppl did want. Smaller tablets, bigger phones to name a few.

A 6 in iPhone would be the dumbest crap Apple ever has done to it's sales next to releasing the iPad mini. Imagine marketing a 6in iPhone vs an iPad mini which itself is a mere 7.9 inches the sales of the mini would canabalize like the ipod did when they released the iPhone and the iPads going to do since the mini is the better buy. Lmfao we're watching Apple destroy it's own product lines right in front of us an they wonder why their market share is falling.

yes, since test versions of devices always equal exactly what the company releases. what are you watching exactly? because i don't know about you, but for me it looks like rumors. sort of like how every company tests a bunch of devices in a variety of sizes before coming out with the final product. you know, something like an r&d lab. that might be the sort of thing a megacorporation might have. maybe?

We'll in Canada the iPhone went from 549 to 649 to 699 to 719 and people still buy it like it's the same price. Apple will increase it again for sure, in Canada at least.

That is why Apple should die, they can't even give up one mm of their profit margin for the consumers even when they hundreds of billions. Consumers do not have principles these days.

Wow, They are already creating such rumors so that Apple won't be CRITICIZED when they release this phone with an unwanted higher price. Well if such a thing happens then i have to say that Apple doesn't learn from their mistakes. Look at the sales of IPhone 5C, they have been so poor that apple has introduced a minimum Rs 13500 off ( $ 200 approx.) on exchanging your old device under a buyback scheme in India.

So many people whining about iPhones being too expensive.

It's somewhat like Toyota vs Hyundai.

A Toyota costs more than a comparable Hyundai, but in most cases, you paid less in the end considering the huge difference in residual values.

For example, a 3+ year old iPhone4 is almost on par with 1 year old Note2 in second hand market.

You get more than twice as much for iPhone5 than Note2.

That's huge.

Very true. I've made money buying and selling iphones. It's a great way to make money. I'll never buy and use one myself though. I get much more value and quality for my $ with android. It's similar to Bose. Their stuff always sells well and for lots of money, but ask any audiophile in the know and they'll give you a great talking to about the build and sound quality. Just not worth it. But there's always people willing to pay for it.
