Analysts split on Microsoft Surface sales projections

We're all pretty curious to see just how the Microsoft Surface is panning out, but it looks like analysts won't be able to help all that much. Two different analyst firms came out with Q4 sales projections for the Surface, and the estimates are pretty far away from each other...

For me Price is important. Items that do not fall in the given price band aren;t even in consideration list. Windows is LATE and to make matters worse the CEO talks filth against competitors products. Learn from Google :).

coz microsoft offers it with a wrong price with low spec (low res and you can only use 20Gb of memory)!!! and most manufacturer that makes RT or win8 (lenovo asus samsung etc etc) cant push it to low end due to the license fee!
if microsoft could just offer it with 399 and $449 with touch cover, people might really consider it! but no....
so, im hoping the next surface, the rumored surface RT 2, the one with 8.6", will be HD but with more affordable pricetag! should be $399 or $449 with touch cover!

MS got almost everything wrong with Surface.

If Surface was selling like hotcakes on a cold winter day, Ballmer would be screaming his head off about it. Given the absence of pre-emptive press announcements, I suspect the Surface sales aren't doing terribly well.

I think it needs only for Surface to sell as "lukewarm cakes" to make Ballmer heat up and blow it all over the top. we know very well how inflammable and "trustworthy :(" this guy is. LOL

And since the silence from Ballmer is rather on the deafening side, something causes me to suspect that Surface hasn't even been selling like lukewarm cakes.

I agree to expensive.. and I want the full version not the RT version. Sorry MS.. RT was DOA.. if it doesnt work with legacy programs I am not interested. I'm a MS fan too.. which should say something.

I hope one thing Microsoft doe when they introduce their New "Surface #2" is to have only one Model of the Surface 2 and have it run only window 8 Pro. The Microsoft made store
Apps running only Windows RT tablet which will be smaller than this time should be simply
named "MS RT " this will take the confusion out of which surface computer to buy because there will be only one "Their Best",. Microsoft also has to make a 9 inch diagonal 4 by 3 type screen shaped Tablet computer because some People find them easier to hold to read text. than a 16 by 9 Tablet computer. Microsoft New windows "Surface Pro is said to have a larger screen so when you try to read from it in the Portraiture(Vertical) position.this big Tablet will be awkward to hold. Also Microsoft has to put the Surface Computer Pro Tablet
computers on sale at other locations than their Web site and their 34 stores if they want to sell them in volume because if PEOPLE do not see them they will not buy them it is simple as that. so they must be sold in Sears, BestBuy, Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, Macy's, JC Penny and ect as well as at more web sites Like TigerDirect.com. Geeks.com.PCconnection.com and ect If Microsoft fails to do this they will not sell enough "Surface" computers to make any real impact on the market. they have to sell where Apple does not.
