IHS has just released a research report that shows that Apple's dominance in mobile apps will be stronger this year than first expected two months ago; the firm claims that the App Store will control 76% of revenue coming from app purchases in 2011, slipping somewhat to a still dominating 60% by 2014...

Those figures are wrong. They don't take into account the MANY ways people can get Android apps. Apple can superficially feel good about these numbers but someday the truth will surface and they'll have the rug pulled out from under them.

I agree I just get sick of people constantly bashing Apple for no reason other than they're doing well. Competition is great for everyone.

my question is.. are they only measuring PAID apps.. or both paid and unpaid apps. Im sorry but i just cant fathom that Android, the worlds #1 phone OS with an appstore thats about to eclipse the "app store" (lolz), only commands 4.7% of the world app market. Had they said like 30% i could have swallowed that without caring much.. but 4.7%?? i DOUBT IT.
I call BS. Can we see some hard data please?
