Analyst: BlackBerry Z10 off to a strong start

0. phoneArena posted on 04 Feb 2013, 09:57

So now we know why BlackBerry decided to launch the new model in the U.K. as sales there of the BlackBerry Z10 have been strong with Carphone Warehouse seeing"widespread sellouts" of the white model and low stock remaining of the BlackBerry Z10 in stock; pre-orders in Canada and in the United Arab Emirates have been strong...

I remember the first iPhone released five years ago to revive the company, everyone yell to apple and say 'too late Apple you're dead' no flash no bluetooth at all and rip... But what happened now?

btw, thorsten heins > Tim cook
therefore I believe blackberry has a strong start :)

Not to mention that android used to be a failure coz it operates like Symbian to me... Until the froyo came out... I'm kinda love froyo if you ask me... And that's the good start for android :)

Most of the things you say make zero sense. Reading all that actually hurt me.

11. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 04 Feb 2013, 11:41 5 6

well considering you only see and believe what YOU (terry crowley) want to believe, we can see WHY it doesnt make sense to you......its a rare day but wendy is makeing PERFECT sense here dude your pride is just standing in the way of seeing it!

I agree to some extent but the case with BB is that they aren't revolutionizing anything with the new line of phone or OS.

Apple came out with something completely different that revolutionized how we use smartphones. I can’t say the same thing for BB.

Another issue is that Apple and Android have a super strong following. Most of their users will not switch to BB.

32. crappp.analyst posted on 04 Feb 2013, 18:34 2 4

I 100000% agree with you davecan!!

I don't think ex-BB user who switch to Android & Apple will come back easily. Most of those BB user who make the jump will suddenly aware what a PIECE OF CRRAPP BB is. None of those ex-BB will miss BB after seeing Android Apple ecosystem.

BB is dead!!!
That's a sure thing.
This BB10 specs is Samsung Galaxy Nexus specs in 2013 with Galaxy Note II price.!!!!
FAIL!!

edit.....

42. Mittal posted on 05 Feb 2013, 04:07

totally agree with the 'revolutionary' part of the comment
As far as the Super strong following is concerned, people have the potential to drop things like a flaming potato if something truly revolutionary of the likes of first iPhone had been introduced

2. Nathan_ingx posted on 04 Feb 2013, 10:06 1

Analysts??? I though Blackberry should be the one talking.

33. crappp.analyst posted on 04 Feb 2013, 18:35

Analyst....
Is a person who make the hype to make the share of RIM/BB goes up. Then that person will taking a good profit selling the hyped share.

3. Nathan_ingx posted on 04 Feb 2013, 10:07 1

Analysts??
I thought Blackberry should be the one doing the talking about their brand new foundation.

5. Samsomesh posted on 04 Feb 2013, 10:38 2 1

Best of luck for blackberry..!

6. sonyisdead (banned) posted on 04 Feb 2013, 11:04 6 1

and they said dead on arrival lol

7. downphoenix posted on 04 Feb 2013, 11:10 6

I guess poor reviews like Phone Arena's 7 out of 10 hasn't stopped initial excitement for the platform.

9. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 04 Feb 2013, 11:38 4

and why should it? just because it didnt stand up to a FULLY capable operating system such as android, which has had how long to develop? doesnt mean people should "give up" up on it at the BEGINNING OF ITS LAUNCH!

wow you expect everyone in WORLD to be in agreement with what phone arena.com com says?? (not that you guys were wrong) but phone arena has left out a VERY vital perspective when it comes to "judging" this platform and phone.........which is, IT JUST BEGUN!

just like wendy stated above (cant believe she actually earned credit here lol) when andorid first started and ios as well it wasnt the BEST and the same with windows phone so with cannot base everything on the first push.....

21. downphoenix posted on 04 Feb 2013, 15:09 2 1

well I see the point, Iphone and Android are both matured, and it is arguable that switching to a platform that just started wont benefit a lot of people. That said, BB10 is along further ahead than I had expected it to, in its current state it already looks primed to outdo WP8.

23. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 04 Feb 2013, 15:14 1 1

i agree bro :)

12. davecann2 posted on 04 Feb 2013, 11:44 2 2

I call BS on the actual sales numbers and interest. I think Analysts are intentionally hyping up the phone to entice users to purchase....

Is it possible to buy off Analysts? lol

13. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 04 Feb 2013, 11:48 1 2

it is what it is man.....dont be mad its sucess

19. davecann2 posted on 04 Feb 2013, 14:16 1

Oh... I'm definitely not mad. I actually want BB to succeed. I just think the numbers are flawed and the devices aren't performing as well as predicted.

I also believe that within a few months’ time Samsung and Apple with debut new devices and BB will be forgotten.

24. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 04 Feb 2013, 15:15 1 1

well im glad that is just what "you" think bro...

44. davecann2 posted on 05 Feb 2013, 08:09

XPERIA,

I can see you just bought a BB.

34. crappp.analyst posted on 04 Feb 2013, 18:37 1 1

This is the same thing as WP7/WP8 analyst say were.
WP8 is sales 10x more than WP7
WP7 will be in 100 million device / year in 2012
lol...

it turn out that Windows Phone is a failure.
and I expect BB10 would not be far from that.

14. Xtasy posted on 04 Feb 2013, 11:52 4 3

This phone is much better than the first iphones and android deviced that were released...so much more functionality and they made it fun to use

20. mrblah posted on 04 Feb 2013, 14:38 3 3

But its not the first blackberry... Sorry they are going to tank

39. Xtasy posted on 04 Feb 2013, 21:44 1 2

It's the first Blackberry with the new QNX software u shmuck...and who are u to be talking? your lame!

30. jroc74 posted on 04 Feb 2013, 18:06 2

And it should be...this is BB10.... not BB 1.

If it wasnt better than those 2 first attempts...something would be seriously wrong in BB land.

40. Xtasy posted on 04 Feb 2013, 21:45 1 1

Did u take a look at iphone 5? same old boring software with a few upgrades. Only blackberry can make a come back cuz they the best

43. jroc74 posted on 05 Feb 2013, 04:48 1

iOS 1 didnt have the notification center. I am sure iOS 1 didnt have Siri too.

Android 1....Android was bad enough that MS coulda released whatever they had with WP in 2008 or 2009 and probably woulda been fine....might have even gave Android a run for its money in 2008, 2009.

Thats why I said if BB10 wasnt better than Android 1 and iOS 1....somethings would be seriously wrong in BB land.

I see WP fans do this when talking about WP...."Its a new OS running some new kernel" "Its brand new" Bottom line...its still WP7 and 8. That means its not MS's first attempt at a mobile OS. Same for BB. This is BB 10....not BB 1.

One cannot compare BB 10 to Android 1 and iOS 1. Android is also on 4....iOS on 6. They are still a few versions behind MS and BB. If or when these companies ever stop making newer versions of these OS's...that would be a differet story.

15. bovcrx posted on 04 Feb 2013, 12:13 2

I'm a loyal BB fan so I'll get it and wait a year for whatever update they put out to fix things that should be there like my PlayBook. Good thing is I'll know more or less what people are complaining about before I scoop one up.

16. slaggyb posted on 04 Feb 2013, 12:27 4 1

Good job BlackBerry releasing the Z10 in countries were you are relevant and regarded as a Kool brand....From what I have read and watched on engadget, theverge and now iphonearena I see reasons for the delay cos Americans generally are already tied down to ios and android ecosystem ...In other words the world doesn't revolve around the US of A.

17. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 04 Feb 2013, 13:31 1

sadly you are correct my friend i agree with you 100 percent and guess where i am from...... :(

22. slaggyb posted on 04 Feb 2013, 15:10

I really can't guess were you from but its good to know its available were you are... I live in the US of A and careless about the phone officially released here.. I travel a lot and buy my phones outright unlocked without any carrier branding bullcrap. Am a prepaid customer and the only business I have with T-mobile is just pay my unlimited everys monthly subscription of 70bucks... I already pre-ordered the Z10 from day one and it be arriving on wednesday..

25. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 04 Feb 2013, 15:16 1

im from america bro........i was just saying that somtimes its a shame to know the country you're from says and does shamless things....know what i mean...

18. timtimity posted on 04 Feb 2013, 13:55 1

I think analysts can be quite dangerous. I admit they're sometimes right but I've seen more predictions that are wrong.

All their views do is unnecessarily undermine confidence and potentially damage sales and share prices. There should be some sort of regulation that stops them simply announcing unsupported predictions and ensure that they are unbiased.

26. snowgator posted on 04 Feb 2013, 16:34 1

As a WP user, I can tell you these early adopters and sales are great- until they are not. Nokia is still trying to live down the long waits for their sold out devices. Many of the WP8 adopters have had problems with their devices, and these make way more headlines then the satisfied customers do. And after a while, those on a new OS start feeling the "why don't we have..." ache.

Why don't we have those apps?
Why doesn't this link up to that seamlessly?

I will be happy to see BB10 succeed, and I hope these early (real early) sales rumors are true. I have stated I feel that BB10 will be a great initial success, spurned on by CrackBerry fans worldwide just aching to support their favorite device.

I am just waiting for the back lash. The negative press ALWAYS trumps the positive.

27. BattleBrat posted on 04 Feb 2013, 17:09 6 1

I always liked Blackberries more than Apples, antioxidants FTW!

28. jldleo posted on 04 Feb 2013, 17:21 1 1

Now thats funny.. Never thought of it that way ha ha

31. jroc74 posted on 04 Feb 2013, 18:10

But...Apples help control weight. Its like a natural diet pill. High in fiber.....know what that means..lol. And I just dont like the taste of Blackberries.

Those that are trying to lose weight....eat more apples.

29. darac posted on 04 Feb 2013, 17:57 3 2

This is good.
I hope BB rises back and grows into Apple competitor

35. pimpollofelice123 posted on 04 Feb 2013, 18:54 2 2

i really want to give the new os a try. I love android but kind off got tired of the slow updates.

41. o_ci2007 posted on 04 Feb 2013, 22:59 2 1

In the UK people value individuality. Iphones are now too common to be "cool". The HTC One X sold well in the UK, Nokia 920 is selling well. So I really wouldnt be surprised to hear that the z10 is selling well in the UK. In the USA its a different story. Apple has people by the balls and everyone will buy an Iphone and no matter what. So kudos to Blackberry for recognizing this and going for a market that prioritizes revolution and not evolution, a market that favors individuality and conformism, a market that favors the underdog and not promote the heavy weight. You get the idea.

45. NateAdam8 posted on 05 Feb 2013, 11:04

I'd still give it a try cause I've tried the old Blackberry before judging it and the new Blackberry 10 deserves the same
