Amazon working with HTC on new smartphone line?

The rumor that never dies is back, and this time it has added a partner; on Tuesday, the Financial Times reported that Amazon is indeed working on a smartphone line. This is a rumor that has been around and every time it pops up, Amazon knocks it down like one of those "Whack-A-Mole" games you undoubtedly have encountered at some point in your life...

HTC is making the world healthy? Lol that's a new one.
Stop being a sentimentalist, they are in for the profits just like everybody else, and they suck at it right now. Amazon smartphone? Another stupid decisin for HTC only can blame themselves. Nobody's forcing them to pull these crap.

HTC went from one of the top android OEMs to one of the worst in a couple years.

Why would you ever, EVER want a company to die? That benefits the end consumer in no way. Especially with a company like HTC.

Get out of here, you mad at them for trying?

No one is mad at them for trying. But if they really want to compete, build the best smartphone, with the most features, and actually LISTEN to what your customers WANT. You know, with support after the sale. Not leaving phones to die after you get your first 500. The one and one x are about the only ones to see any support after they were sold. Not to mention, as I've said before, the jetstream and flyer owners they screwed.

Why is adding beats to a smartphone a fail? Yea they may not be the best quality speakers around but they have the best speakers on any phone.

HUH? Beats has nothing to do with the speakers, it's a software equalizer setting, and headphones. That's it.

Lol if they were beats speakers your ears would bleed. Beats suck.

That would probably be a good thing. Maybe then HTC would listen to it's customers, like amazon does.

I haven't been disappointed with any of the HTC phones on Verizon. They all gave me good - great call quality and talk times, decent to good battery life and cameras on par with the competition (even when viewed on the desktop screen). I also prefer Sense to the other UIs except Motorola's,
Beats was a pretty useless addition though.
The android camp is getting annoying. They advocate choice yet want every phone to have stock Android or bust or every phone be made by Samsung or bust. It's just stupid.

HTC was successful with Sense UI, the micro sd card expansion slot, user replaceable batteries and premium material built products. Offering products with poor battery life a few years ago wasn't that big of a deal.
Nowadays the only thing HTC continues to offer that is of value to customers is Sense UI and premium material built products. That's just not enough in todays competitive market to have much success.
HTC alone can't recover from the position they've put themselves in, but a major name like Amazon could definitely help get HTC back on track if Amazon can convince HTC to start giving customers what they want. I'd love to see HTC bounce back and help contribute to our competitive market.

i think Amazon should buy BB mobile division, Amazon has Money & knows the current trend how to survive(Like they did in Tablet sales.)

I don't even understand were the animosity for HTC is coming from. So they tried different things. so what. They have not been as successful as they use to be but I do think they can bounce back. to wish death on a company damn. Yes I owned a diamond and something before that from them. I have not found an android handset that fits my needs the the ONE so maybe give them time

Troll and shill that is all. HTC one has been one of the best phone of the year and they are the first to update their flagship to 4.3 but people still bash them for not updating themr phone. No one person went anyone companies to go bankrupt because it is bad for all of us.
