All android devices go on sale quickly. The sgs3 will be $99 by September. It's a gift and a curse with android devices. They lose value quickly but you can get an awesome device for basically nothing with a slight bit of patience. The only android device that seems to be holding retail value strong is the Note. Good for consumers either way!

Since Samsung, HTC, etc don't control the android OS, they are forced to compete on hardware specs resulting in short-lived models. It's almost like every three month, you get a cutting edge flagship model from one of the android OEMs.

This is true. However, most of these phones are made with cheap plastics. Im not an Apple fan but you do have to give them one thing, their craftsmanship is of the highest caliber. I think thats why they wait like 2 years before coming out with a new version.
Android phones are far more advanced than iOS, yet the build quality is almost disposable. Samsung always has flimsy plastics. HTC does use aluminum and better quality materials. Motorola uses good materials too, however, Id like to see these companies stick to a form factor and use the best quality materials, only then will they not have to come out with a new design every 6 months.

You mean, if Samsung, HTC and Motorola have better materials, we won't see new Android phones every 3 months anymore? It just doesn't make any sense. And iphones are very fragile being made from glass. Is that the best of craftsmanship? BTW, glass is not very expensive.

Gorrilla glass is more expensive than plastic. Yes it does break, but when I go to a fancy restaurant Id rather have porcelain plates than plastic plates. Metal utensils than disposable.
Not being a troll here, and AGAIN not hatin' on Android, but I would want my next Android device to be something a little more exotic.
Motorola is on the right track. The RAZR lines are awesome craftsmanship.
