Alpha Zero goes free for 24 hours on BlackBerry World
Several days ago, we informed you about BlackBerry's 25 Days of Gifts campaign. It looks like the Canadian company wants to be one of the first Santa Clauses among the smartphone manufacturers this year and during the first 25 days of December, you can get yourself some nice apps from BlackBerry World for free – little gifts for the holidays, courtesy of BlackBerry.

Well, today's free-to-get app is the 2.5D shoot 'em up game Alpha Zero. If you have ever played Space Invaders, then you'd most probably find Alpha Zero very similar to the classic arcade space shooter. The concept behind Alpha Zero, which is developed by Funkoi Ltd, is simple - the player has to take control of a spaceship and annihilate the numerous waves of continuously spawning foes, whose one and only goal is to destroy you. Well, the concept behind the game isn't one of its most prominent features, but what makes it shine among similar shoot 'em up games is the way the player controls the spaceship. Alpha Zero uses multi-touch controls, which means that you can navigate your spaceship with one finger while aiming at your enemies with another. You can also demonstrate your superior flying skills by using swipe gestures, too.

Alpha Zero, which is available for both iOS and BlackBerry, is very well received and the reviews of the game are pretty solid. So, if you own a BlackBerry 10 device and want to indulge yourself in some space action, you can give Alpha Zero a try. Normally, you'd have to buy it for $0.99, but today you can get it for free by visiting BlackBerry World (links below).
