Alltel to offer Palm Treo Pro on Thursday?
While everyone was waiting on Sprint to release their version of the Treo Pro, it appears as though Alltel has come out of nowhere and word is that the carrier will release the device this Thursday, March 5th. The handset runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and is equipped with Wi-Fi, GPS, a physical QWERTY keyboard, 2.5 inch display and has 3G connectivity. The smartphone is expected to set you back $199 after a $125 rebate and your signature on a two-year contract. Our Canadian neighbors are already able to pick up this phone through Bell, as we previously reported. As far as Sprint is concerned, you can still hear that pin drop.

Why are they still making alltell branded phones?

Haha! I wish! I live in North Dakota and my dumb state is keeping them from merging because of a monopoly. Or at least that is what I understand. This angers me!

Omygosh why couldn't it be for Verizon??

Alltel shouldn't even be getting any phones. The Verizon merger is still happening...so them getting new devices just doesn't make sense right now.

So if Alltel and Verizon are merging does this mean this phone will be available for Verizon?

9. Legion posted on 04 Mar 2009, 08:21

Yeah if you buy it from alltell and activate it on vzw.

How long do you think its going to take Alltel and Verizon to finally merge?

They have everything up on the website, I think its the end of the year.
