I've had this phone for 9 months. Battery life is good on standby, but if you use it at all, it drains down quick or if you're in fringe areas and it's searching for signal, it also drains quick. Call quality is not that great either. I'm dissapointed that I have to go through the menu system to change from ring to vibrate. My last motorola had a side button to change it. Don't like the voice dialing either. Way too many procedures to go through just to voice dial. Now for the worst thing yet. The other day I opened my phone to answer a call and the screen was 2/3's gone. It appears that it cracked inside and the screens shot. I bought this phone because it was small and slim and I specifically told them I wanted a phone I could keep in my back pocket. When it broke, they told me I shouldn't keep it in my pocket. >bangs head< I'm really dissapointed in this phone and will be buying a refurb of something else until my contract is up.

Hate It!!! I have the Blue one and will not hold a charge one bit! Then after two years of the same phone, the charging port in the phone quits working and becomes very loose!! So i have to hold it in place for it to charge!! Note to anyone who has this phone ( blue in particular) and is coming up to two years be very careful with the CHARGING DOCK!!

I've had this phone for about 6 months and haven't had the issues people are talking about here. I have had to replace it once because it suddenly wouldn't make or receive any phone calls. My brother has the same phone and has had no issues yet. However, I have a friend whose charging port is destroyed and also the battery drains when in "fringe zones" (areas with poor signal in between towers), so that sucks. Not the best phone by any means, I just hope it will last another 18 months until the contract is up and I can get a new phone

I have four of these phones and they all have problems they shut off when you try to download ringtones. The screen actually pops out of one of the phones. Another phones hinge is broken. One phone the battery port came loose and wouldn't charge. So we took it back to the store. They gave us a loner phone and said they would send ours away to be repaired. After about 4 weeks we got a letter saying our phone was back but was not repaired even though still under warranty. The people at the store were rude. I told the salesperson that if Alltel Is going to put their customers in a 2 year contract they should sell a piece of equipment that lasts for 2 years. They told me that Alltel is not in the business of selling phones they were providing a service. Well if that was true then you could buy any type of phone anywhere and just hook up to Alltel. But no! You have to buy an Alltel phone to hook up with Alltel! Also they sell crappy phones and you have to buy another one every 6 or 8 months. So during your 2 year contract you buy several phones. Don't tell me that Alltel is not making money selling phones. Also if Alltel is not in the business of selling phones then the should give you one to us for their service. Like the land phone companies used to do. I bet those phones wouldn't be constantly breaking. LG needs to start making better phones. Also you get better help if you call the company and deal with Alltel over the phone instead of going in to the store and dealing with the sales people. Maybe because your phone call is monitored and those people have to treat the customers better. These are the worst phones I have ever owned. Alltel should eat this one not the customer.

This phone is horrible. I have had 4 in the past year. Every single one would stop letting me call people. Then they would break at the top just by opening the phone. Then they wont let us use the warranty!! i should get the Lg Scoop!!!!

ya me and my wife both got our phones and the same time a year ago and they started to fall apart about 2 months ago. Breaking at the hing, paint coming off, and screen keeps fading out. By far the worst phones we have ever had. Alltel woun't help me out at all. I have been with them for over 5 years now but not after my contract is up. I might see if i can get a prepayed cell phone. It cost more but maybe in the end ill be better off

I had two LG AX8600 phones, one blue and one silver. I used the blue as my phone and the silver with a data cable for internet sevice on my laptop. They both worked great for about 10 months. Then suddenly, the blue one shut off one night and wouldn't come back on. I took it to an alltel store and had to wait to get another one in the mail while they gave me a really crappy piece of junk loaner. I got the next one in the mail a couple of days later, got it all set up having to reneter all my contacts and things since the firdt one just shut down. I used that one for about a week and that one shut down without any warning and wouldn't start up again. I took that one back to an alltel store and again had to wait for one in the mail. Got the third one, entered all my contacts and everything and again the same problem in a week. I called Alltel and raised total hell but still had no luck. I took that phone back to the store and raised hell only to be told I had to go through 4 mailed phones before they would give me a different model. So, I got the 4th phone and when someone would call, most times it wouldn't even ring let alone tell me I had a missed call. I would get text messages hours they were sent to me. So, finally I got a different model phone, LG AX565. The sales associate said that it was the replacement for the LG AX8600 and told me that some of the phones had been recalled. This phone will not use any of the ringtones I have stored on my phone. I can listen to the sounds but I can not use them for ringtones. The only way to use a ringtone on the AX565 is to buy new them. Now, as for the silver AX8600, at the time I was having trouble with the blue phone I didn't have the firdt problem with the silver one so I thought it was just the blue one. Shortly afterwards however, I started having problems with the silver one. I only use it for an internet connection. A message will pop up on the phone saying the battery is charged or is charging and will kick me off the internet everytime. After a day or two of this, I call Alltel and was told that my warranty had expired and that because I didn't have insurance on that phone, there was nothing they could do about it even though the phone was one of them that was recalled. Talk about sorry customer service and even worse products! Maybe I am wrong but I think that Alltel should replace any phone that has been recalled whether they have insurance on them or not!
