Alltel launches LG Banter
You know, today Sprint and LG announced the second Rumor and expect it to be available starting this Sunday, March 15th. However, if you are eager to test it out today, we have a surprise for you - go to your local Alltel store and ask the nice people inside about the LG Banter. This is the Alltel version of the Rumor 2 (same features but slightly different design), coming as a replacement of the Scoop (which is identical to the first Rumor). It is already on the Alltel site and we're told it will be available for purchase in stores today. Currently there is no info about its pricing, but the Rumor 2 will be $50 after rebates and a contract, so this one shouldn't brake the bank as well.

Thanks to our reader Kellyman for tipping us on this!

Seriously! VZW does NOT need another phone like this for a while...

I can't name one. I guess its how you define similar to... Verizon doesn't seem to do the side slider like this though. They've got lots of flip qwertys but the only slide qwerty is the Glyde and A. that phone sucks and B. I'd say while its not a smartphone, the design of the glyde is closer to some of its smartphone cousins.

Not on the alltel store where I live(internet anyway) I wish they would come out with something that replaces the Glimmer, that'd I'd like. I would still take a Glimmer that won't dial 911 over this thing. Where can I get one? haha
