At least make it snapdragon 600 and expandable memory. It's already a good buy.

if not snapdragon 600 at least a snapdragon 410 should be there ...

if it comes with a snapdragon 400 this phone is sure to doom as Asus and xiaomi providing much better VFM than moto ..

410 is almost already out in samsung , lenovo , huawei phones ...

Remember that it's an entry level phone!!! Many of us don't consider this, since its specs are so good for the price, but we can't ask for a mid range phone for the price of an entry level, and the inclusion of an 8mp camera solves the major problem of the Moto G.
Consider that the LG G3 Mini, which has just been released, has the same chipset of the Moto G and similar specs, but it costs eur 350!!!

i think you haven't looked asus Zenfone 5

it has an intel dual core Z2560 processor ( much much better than snapdragon 400 )
Powervr 544 mp2 GPU ( much better than adreno 305 )
2 gb ram
5 inch 720p display
awesome 8mp camera capable of great low light photography in this budget
Expandable memory

it has a weak battery though

and it is priced for 166 $ only while moto G 16 gb costs 233 $ here..

PowerVR is "still worse than Adreno and Mali"?

One, Mali is nothing special, it is just reference ARM design. It's as vanilla as can be, and it has never really been in the conversation with Imagination's PowerVR GPUs.

Two, Qualcomm is chasing PowerVR performance with the Adreno, generation after generation, not the other way around.

and here is comparison in between adreno 305 vs powervr of intel

http://gfxbench.com/compare.jsp?benchmark=gfx30&D1=Asus+Fonepad+7+ME372CG+%28K00E%29&os1=Android&api1=gl&D2=Motorola+Moto+G+%28XT1008%2C+XT1028%2C+XT1031%2C+XT1032%2C+XT1033%2C+XT1034%2C+XT1039%29&cols=2

check 1080p offscreen benchmark

5.5 fps - moto g
7.3 fps - zenfone 5

30 % better not that great of difference but when it comes to cpu it kicks ass of sd 400.. compatibility could be an issue but all major and bigger apps are all compatible which most people use anyway..

Yup. I am using Moto G right now. The only problem I have with are camera and RAM. Updating camera would make this phone nearly perfect, no need for spec bump. Although 1.5 GB is missing

Give us a snapdragon 410 1.4GHz processor 1.5GB ram LTE and 8MP camera and price it for 16GB 200$. Also consider making a 32GB model for 230$.

Snapdragon 400 would result in a device that is outdated by the time it fully spreads around the world, if they launch it today it gets a couple of months before it will need drastic price cuts.

DAMN LEAKS! Just when I was about to go and get a Moto G, suddenly they leak the next one! I can't possibly buy now. I like those grilles in the front from the Moto E - and 8MP camera. Looks like I'll be waiting another few month.

If they want to update this phone. they at least need to give it a Snapdragon 600, an Adreno 320 and 2GB of RAM. Any thing less would be obsolete by the time it was released and sales started. The camera could stay at 5MP but could get a bump to 8MP. The Moto X's active display feature would be nice, but not necessary.

I like the front speaker design. I would buy it if it had these specs:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad Core 64 Bit or Snapdragon 615 Octa Core 64 Bit
1.5-3GB of RAM
MicroSD up to 128GB
5-20.7MP Camera
If I could get these specs, I would definitely buy it.
