Alleged front panel of the iPhone 5 leaks again, 30% larger screen with in-cell touch layer to be used

0. phoneArena 04 Jul 2012, 08:00 posted on

It integrates the touch sensors directly into the LCD package, thinning it in the process, and allowing for a slimmer device. Given that those sources confirm once again what we've heard numerous times - that the iPhone 5 screen will be with 30% larger area than the 3.5-incher we have now, a thinner display part would still allow for a very compact device...

Android is obviously leading the way right now.. I just do hope that more HD games exclusive on App store right now like (NBA 2K12, Fight night, Street fighter Volt, Infinite blade, etc.) will come to Google Play..

I go to android articles and there are maybe 2-10 comments and most of the comments are positive. I go to Apple articles and sometimes there are over 60 comments but they are all negative and bashing Apple. I get it, Apple's release of iOS 6 is pretty upsetting because of the lack of new features. But, here's the pattern Apple usually runs in. One year they focus on software (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4s) and the next they focus on hardware (iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, and possibly iPhone 5). Yes it is frustrating for an Apple user like me that Apple doesn't release totally new software and hardware at the same time. Apple is going to keep doing this pattern as long as they keep having the good sales from year to year. A 4 inch screen is defiantly a must have if Apple wants to compete with Android.

Understand your frustration beillax, but it isn't Apple users that draw our ire. It's the company you support and their cut-throat litigiousness and blatantly anti-competitive practices that guarantee that every article about an Apple product will receive harsh criticism and mockery. Sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.

see, i just don't think that this is the place for that though
do you really think apple gives a damn if an orgy of disgruntled android fans bash them on a random gadget site?
this is just a consumer level site for discussing what is coming out
legitimate criticisms of apple products are on topic
and article about apples latest ridiculous lawsuits would be a good place to criticize the company
but people basically trolling things like "omg, it has a 4" screen? i bet it will have like a half core processor and 3gb of space and mindless apple fans will eat this mess up. Apple is awful. gs3 gs3 gs3 gs3!!!!!" that have no basis in fact or that are compltely random really throw off the atmosphere of the website
without affecting apple at all
apple isn't reaping the whilrwind
everyone else, ifan, fandroid, ...windows phone fan, symbian person, does

Apple doesnt want to COMPETE with Android. They already BAN the GALAXY NEXUS. They might as well BAN every phone in the industry.

If Apple really wanted to attact customers, they should change the physical home button to a capacitive one. I've seen almost all my iPhone using friends use the accessibility button as a home button because the physical one is either broken or is unresponsive.

And I hope it gets sued the moment it's announced. By iFans logic, Apple stole LTE, NFC and big screens from the Galaxy S3. And I'm fairly sure that Apple will steal Sony and Samsung's Smart tag/ tectiles technology use of NFC too.

LTE its network its not a phone or OS that apple steal it and NFC system blackberry already had it so what do u think they steal it , and big screen every other phone coming out with the big screen to compete in the market that doesnt mean they steal it. iphone is the first phone with big 3.5 " screen then after samsung made its first galaxy phone that was really looks like an iphone if u notice it. who started to make multi touch screen phone "samsung"? NO! that was apple !!!

That's what all of you sound like. If you don't like iOS and Apple, don't read articles and post immature and pointless comments. I was under the impression the comments were for constructive discussion, not mindless bashing. I don't go on a car website and just bash on all the Ford articles because I dislike their products/the company. I just ignore it.

I wonder if they still have time to copy the advances in Google Now before releasing the iPhone 5. Considering how much Apple pins their hopes and dreams on Siri, it would be ironic to release an upgraded version that is slower, less accurate and has an inferior voice presentation than an existing Android product.

Anyone using the "beta" defense will be sent to the corner with a pointy hat.

Buy the iphone 5 if you wanna fund their lawyers, incentivaze proprietary software and destroy the competition (future preview: iphone 10 @5000 bucks, mandatory Apple sticker on every car)

i think phonearena should block the ability to comment on apple articles only.

every random piece of news thats released on here about apple gets the same redundant comments...

as an apple user, i'm pretty much excited about the upgrade on screen size. i know you android fans have big screens since ages ago but the change in specs (screen size, 4g, nfc etc.) are unique among all generations of iphone. i repeat, among all iphone models only. i'm a person who wants a simple and easy to use phone, who jailbreaks and restore it whenever i like it, and has no problem about apple's ecosystem, an iphone is perfect for me. sure i tried android(xperia ray), meego(nokia n9), and soon windows phone if i still have enough money, but still it's an iphone for my everyday use!

apple is facing its biggest challenge now as more people realize that there are a lot of cheaper and more feature pack phones out there. if iphone 5 comes with 4" screen it will not be enough to stem the tide of samsung and htc and perhaps sony from further cutting its hold on the smartphone market.
