Alleged Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) version appears on AnTuTu with 2.5 GHz chipset and 3 GB of RAM

0. phoneArena 19 Dec 2013, 05:45 posted on

An eventual Samsung Galaxy S5 candidate has been unearthed, under the codename SM-G900F, in AnTuTu's benchmark database. The handset seems restricted to 1080p display resolution, despite the numerous rumors about it sporting a 2K HD, 1440x2560 pixels screen. It, however, flaunts the fastest Snapdragon 800 quad-core chipset - MSM8974AC - clocked at 2.5 GHz, has 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal memory. A 2 MP front shooter is detected, and a generous 16 MP camera, likely the one with ISOCELL technology that Samsung bragged about not long ago...

You should design, and build your own phone. All the ram you want then.

You should get a job and leave the Halo 5 to the kids. And if you are a kid then hit the books.

I will bet that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will not be a 64 bits, no 16MP camera, no 2K Screen resolution and no metal building! I bet! Who agree with me?

Me. It would be suicidal and foolish launching a 64-bit phone running a 32-bit OS.

It would be quite easy for Android to become 64-bit capable since it is based on Linux which has been 64-bit capable for a while now. To sum it up better:

"Android uses a virtual machine in which apps are run, so only the Dalvik VM will need to be updated to 64-bit. Existing apps aren’t likely going to need any changes at all."

It will be having 64bit , 16MP camera and ofcourse 2K screen .
but there will huge wrap on design but i doubt it will be metal but it will surely something better.
only question is now is will the 64bit exynos will be 14nm or 20nm ?
will they include FDD lte and TDD lte on this chip ? ( both together as china and india will be using TDD lte )

2k amoled could be possible. And there wouldn't be a significant difference between 13mp and 16mp samsung cams. And metal body usually implies a unibody design or a non-removable battery, which is not Samsung's style.

This is not S5 for sure as it should have score atleast near to Note 3 (31k+), where G2 has 35k+ AnTuTu score.

Samsung won't use snapdragon 800 in s5, they will go for snapdragon 805 or exynos 64 bit.

That might be very well real since I can hardly imagine a 64-bit GS5 with 64-bit Android nowhere in sight.

A wise move I'd say.

It's understandable. Sammy had no other choice.

How well it will sell is a different question though.

They really should go Snapdragon 805 at a minimum if they going to be using a 2k screen, more pixels needs more power or the phone will be a little slower than my G2 already with an 800 and 1080p.

I honestly don't care what specs Samsung puts on the S5. I don't care about a 4k screen or a S805, or a 16MP shooter.

I want them to be serious about fixing the mess that is Touchwiz. Make their skin look modern and sleek instead of like dog vomit. I want them to add innovative features that every day users actually use on a regular basis, rather than silly gimmicks that people use 2 or 3 times and then forget about.

Samsung has hardware down, no doubt. The Note 3 proved that they can actually make a moderately attractive handset out of plastic. They need to fix their software issues.

What jell said. Samsung are really behind the curve with their overlay, hardly anyone does that now, that was a gimmick going back to the days of Gingerbread when everyone was guilty of horrid, bloated overlays for their phones to makes theirs 'better'

I'd expect a Samsung running purish android to fly along (in comparison to how it works with touchwiz on)

I can only assume there are as many samsung sheep as there are/were iphone sheep simply because of market presence & branding/advertising. It sure isn't build quality, or even for that matter 100% compliance with android, I remember researching apps back when I first got my android, and the amount of users saying that their 'samsung phone' wouldn't play nice with a particular app was notable.

God knows why samsung insist of throwing so many gimmicky features into their phones, when all it does is slow the thing down, that's like having a race car, then hooking it up to a heavy trailer to destroy any kind of speed it should have.

I know if I had dared to post this, a year or so ago, I'd have the samsung villagers on their way to me with torches blazing & pitchforks waving, but I'm seeing even die hard samsung fans on various forums wishing that the samsung build quality/choice of material was different, hell even Samsung themselves have said that their new wave (i forget the number) was going to have a different design)

I'm not even asking that any new phone be made out of glass/aluminium or some other exotic material. Other makers have shown that using plastic doesn't automatically equal poor /cheap feeling build quality.

One things for sure, it'll be interesting to see what happens in samsung land looking to the future, and I'll be watching with interest.

GS2 wasn't so bad in design (apart from the incredibly flimsy rear battery cover panel) though they had to change the whole phone from that style because of the (many) Apple law suits.

this phone should atleast surpass note 3 but all those rumors of 64bit 8core,16 core yeah still nothing will be seen like this in US for sometime. Great device though samsung loves to pump phones out just to monopolize the market.

Unless it is on a tablet, having a 2-K resolution screen seems kind of overkill. On any high-end smartphone, a 1080 screen looks perfectly sharp to the naked human eye.
