Doug im actually a little concerned about this device coming to Verizon. You know there going to ruin it with obscene amount logos, crappy software and that stupid persistent Wi-Fi notification. I hope im wrong but i have a feeling im right.

Root it and get a case or use disable feature in android

Yes i am well aware of root but that will take some time to establish, i havent used a case in a few yrs because they make the phone to bulky and they take away from the asthetics and disable is an option. The problem with the app disble is 2 fold...

1. Verizon still bakes these apps into the software which in turn slows down the update process.

2. If the ICS update for the Thunderbolt is any sort of indication then Verizon will find a way to block that option from us.

For whatever reason VZW has, I suspect the HTC one is not headed to VZW. A shame, but the Magic 8 Ball agrees with the statement - The HTC One is not headed to VZW, right?

Not sure what you are referring to about the Wi-Fi notification, though.

I think the only way the One will come to Verizon is Verizon can figure out some way to handicap the device. I agree that if they don't get the device it would be a real shame but we'll have to see what happens. In regards to the Wi-Fi notification it was a big issue with the S3 and the Incredible 4G. Verizon even went so far as to remove the Wi-Fi toggle from the notification panel.

Are you referring to the ability to tether (turn the phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot)? The GS III and Note II have that ability with JB. (Dunno)

P.S.: I don't see the One on VZW. If it was going to be offered, that would have been part of the announcement.

Well we all love HTC and this beast mate.

But people like you will run here and there just to have a look for those flagships devices when Legends (Samsung, Motorola) will bring it in the market. So hold your horses.:)

On board memory is reliant on nothing happening to the device. Lose the phone to malfunction, equals possibly losing imporant data stored within the on board memory. RAM is different than ROM. I want to make sure I can retain vital info on the card to move to a different device on the fly.

Better carry around a charging cord so you can charge it every 48 hours or more...

As a consumer advocate, I take my devices seriously. I literally just got off the phone with HTC and explained my position that I'm highly disappointed in this offering. She claims that most people want slimmer phones with longer battery life. So do I, but not at the expense of eliminating these features. From Samsung to Motorola to Palm to HTC and even the iPhone, the charging ports get used daily and are vulerable. She claims I can send back an HTC phone within the warranty and they'll replace it. My bone of contention is when it is NOT under warranty and she said people don't seem to care.

To say the least, I was livid. Tomorrow I will be purchasing the Note.

HTC One is clearly in front in the design area, However HTC I have a very important question. I buy my phone off contract as most American are doing more and more each day. Going toward prepaid verse contract. I'm sure this HTC One will be around $500 - $700, steep. So how have HTC prepared to insure customer it's an great investment? For example, I paid $675 for my laptop about 2 years ago, just bought a new battery for my laptop, it's like new. I am good to go for many years again. What is HTC prepare or will being doing after a year or 2 when the HTC One just simply needs a new battery so consumers can continue enjoying HTC One? Even after the one years warranty expires, what, how or who do we go to get a new battery installed?

Did you call HTC and explain your concern? I have and was assured by HTC reps that I wasn't alone in my concerns. Yet, Tuesday HTC seemed to ignore these concerns.

Me, my Wife and some friends of ours, have had to resort to extra batteries and desktop chargers over the years in order to nurse our phones through only a few more months of our contracts. The MicroUSB ports have given up after almost two years of connecting and disconnecting. It is normal wear and tear that isn't covered under insurance. For this reason, our love for having removable batteries saves us from having to spend upwards of 100 dollars for insurance claims on a device that is only going to be retired very shortly.

I did address my concern last year via email many times to HTC. They said they agree with me, yet this new HTC One did the opposite of what I address to them. Basically same thing that made them fail last year to Samsung. I truly believe they think following Apple is going to make them be on top. HTC don't have the sheep following to do this HTC One. The reason people like android over IOS is because the ability of removable battery and micro sd card.

What's worse, is they didn't seem to care that I care. I called them after the release of the EVO LTE and expressed my concern that eliminating these two elements, would lead to descention. They claim I am not alone in these concerns. It appears they ignored these concerns and have seen their numbers drop.

In calling them again tonight to express my displeasure with this device, I was met with no remorse by the Representative.

I thoroughly enjoyed my years as a perpetual HTC consumer. I've been waiting awhile out of contract for this device in hopes for these options. It will hurt that tomorrow I leave their products behind as I purchase another brand.

What is the likelihood that if you call Apple and address these concerns that the iPhone 5s will have an SD card slot and removable battery? Granted, iphone's sales can't be questioned like HTC's. On the same note, HTC notices that iPhone sells without the features. As a fan of the 2 features, it's sad that HTC has gone the way of apple.

What HTC don't under is they don't have the herd of sheep like Apple does. If Apple puts out crap it will sell because of the volume of sheep Apple has in their staple. Until HTC gets the same amount of sheep like Apple have then the HTC One would sell till then, Dead on arrival like the last one. Samsung will sheep right over this in March. Sorry HTC once again your on the next boat back out to the drawing board.

I don't think it's hard to transfer sd card content to phone's internal memory.
Besides, more internal memory leads to more space for games. I don't think people will be able to bring game's content from their SD card to different phones.

and for the battery, it's not like most people will be nowhere near electricity for more than 15 hours? ofcourse, 2300 mah will do great through a day

I don't understand all the fuss about wireless charging. You still need a device specific charger that's just another piece of electronic "stuff" laying around. Plus it takes twice as long as traditional charging. Can someone tell me what the upside is, other than being "cool?"

Don't mistake my question as contributing to "all the fuss". At the time of my comment I was merely comparing features to features with existing and upcoming devices. Especially since the HTC DNA has it, I was wondering if this feature would be included in the HTC One's extensive portfolio. I use my device more often than not while it is charging. So, until wireless charging can be utilized from a couple of meters away from it's platform, I don't personally have much use for it. However, it's one of those, "rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it" kind of thing. BTW, in the future, try not to insinuate what the person commenting is thinking and take more care on how you interpret those comments. :-)

but.. i like blinkfeed very much. it's like my dream widget.. camera for The One is not special, but everything else is beautiful
