All three Samsung Galaxy S II variants for the US pose together in a leaked shot
0. phoneArena 26 Aug 2011, 13:15 posted on
Looking at them, they don’t appear to drastically differ in design from the international version that’s been available for some time – albeit, they shed the physical home button found with the original. For the most part, the three handsets...

Lol, hypocrite. if it's "just phones" then why do Android fans get so bent out of shape every time something is said about their phones?

Miz you're an idiot with no life, and the most people are going to respond to your post is with thumbing it down. Ever thought why virtually ALL your posts in every article are massively thumbed down? Because we're all "Android fanboys"? Think again you troll.

oh look the homo avatar child with a negative comment about an Android phone.....what were the odds?
why dont you go talk the the rest of the sheeple that buy any bullshyte that Steve Jobs puts out......."people I know the specs and performance isnt there but it has an i in front of it so it has to be better"
85. The_Miz (Posts: 1496; Member since: 06 Apr 2011)
I bet anything Steve Jobs coughs up would be a lot better than anything with Android on the cover. You know, Froyo's symbole was a perfect symbol for Android phones, and I'll just leave it at that. It's amazing how all of you complain over some silly comments. Lol, please get over it.

Why the hell does Samsung change the design for U.S.? Do Americans not like a physical home button. The iPhone sheep and half of America beg to differ... I don't get it. I love being able to power up my phone by clicking the front. Back to HTC I'm sure the GPS is all jacked up anyway. Hey, doesn't Samsung dim the screen and disable movies/camera/picture viewing at 15% battery too? And you can't disable it. You can't.
68. Goldeneye (Posts: 379; Member since: 22 Jan 2011)
Lawsuits buddy, also if you want that button so bad get an iPhone dude! Android experience doesn't need it, real Androids have 4 buttons, at least until ICS arrives that is
83. Ampd1985 (unregistered)
The probable reason behind the slight design change is more than likely due to the lawsuit between Samsung and Apple. Apple says "Samsung is copying the look & feel of their iPhone" HAHAHA.
86. The_Miz (Posts: 1496; Member since: 06 Apr 2011)
Because Samsung copied the home button off the iPhone and we all know they can't come up with their own ideas.

Hey Miz, I think you need to know your role and shut your mouth!! If ya smelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll what the ROCK IS COOKING!! LOL!

your an idiot.... samsung turned everything around and apple is at fault. samsung came with the design first
2. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
they look nearly identical except that the tmobile version is slightly more rounded. i guess that is to make it feel smaller since it has the larger screen.
guess samsung isnt afraid of apple, miz. :)
21. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
it's funny, the only differences is the corners with AT&T's being the more angular then Sprint's being the next and T-Mo's being the roundest.
23. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4746; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
That is the PERFECT observation. I personally like the middle of the line. It has some curves, but not like the T-Mobile version. I guess that is why they put the Sprint version in the middle.
29. GALAXY-S (Posts: 701; Member since: 07 Jun 2011)
I also like the sprint one as well ! the tmo one does look more like the galaxy s.. not very appealing :(
im hoping the bigger screen makes up for it
31. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4746; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
I think all those phones will be kick a$s. I agree with you about the T-Mobile version, but I think they are making it look like a Vibrant on purpose. I just STILL can't get over Verizon NOT having the most powerful phone that money can buy right now. I am flabbergasted! Dude you WILL be SO happy when you get the Samsung Galaxy S II. That screen is going to be killer!
73. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
yeah, i personally like the looks of the more angular AT&T version but i think the Sprint version would be the perfect compromise between looks and comfort. i'd have to see the backs to make my real judgement though.
106. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
im pretty sure they are designed that way to flow from the original SGS1 designs for all 3 carriers. The hercules just looks like a bigger SGS1.. which is fine by me.
17. MaskedZebra (unregistered)
Actually I find that the version the least attractive but each to their own I guess. AT&T version looks nice but I have had... a bad experience with their network so I'm going to go with the Sprint version probably.
4. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
too much thunder .. no lighting on this phones.. verizon is the only smart for not offering this phone that will live up to the hype... most likely no exynos.. hmmm so sammy followers. bent over and take it like a man... and no 4G.. all the ones critisasing the iphone for not having 4G .. please would like to hear you guys again...
8. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
like normal you talk without any information
SGS2's quads all match exynos.. so its a 95% chance of being exynos.
the Tmobile variant has already been confirmed a dozen times with being the first 42mb/s 4G phone in america. The ATT variant has their crappy hspa+ and i dont remember hearing one way or another about Wimax but i would be surprised if it didnt have it for sprint.
if it doesnt have exynos then I'll probably skip it for the Nexus Prime. that easy.
so there, u heard us.. now dont u feel silly like normal.. lol.
25. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
finally you have a smart answer.. i wouldnt be sure about the exyons until the samsung lawyers say it has exynos..lol.. about 4G.. not surprise u back T-mobile.. as far as 4G ..please.. they have to lower the 4g standard for t-Mo to be called 4g to begin with... i applaud verizon for not giving into this overhyped phones... of all the people that were drooling for this phone are now 50-50 between the SGII or the prime.. but the time the Prime comes out that 50 wil be torn between the prime and another phone... you are phone whores.. will go to the newest flavor of the month.,...
44. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
Tmobile is just about 4 times faster than sprint's "4g". sprint was 4g, yet you want to make fun of Tmobile? lol. ATT's "4g" is even worse than sprints. The only one that keeps up with Tmobile at all is VZW.
if u wanna play "lets get caught up in what may or may not be considered 4g" (even though its ALL 4g by official declaration) go ahead, ill go by what my speedtest apps say. the fastest one wins.. oh yea.. that would be Tmo and VZW in a near tie.. and for less than half the price of VZW, tmo wins.
53. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
In the United States, mobile network operators may brand their services under the term "4G", but in-contrast use 3G transitional based technologies which do not meet criteria to be considered 4G.
..and for the nail in the coffin
let me give you an advise... if you go by declaration ..like most of all... verizon is number one.. simple... T-mobile.. is getting bought... the only thing you will be winning is a new ATT plan.. mr.. good luck with that.. dueces..
bring back thumper. he makes more sense
107. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
the IPCC named all 3 technologies in use (HSPA+, LTE, WiMaxx) "4g". Period. End of discussion. The only people that still argue otherwise are people that lack reading comprehension.
Ive seen the VZW scores going up and up lately. Thats great. That is definately a benefit about an LTE device over an HSPA+ one that they are all fully capable of the speeds as they go up.. so its basically a free up grade.
The HSPA+ devices have caps on their speeds. The first ones like the G2 could only go to 14mb/s. The SGS 4G can hit 21mb/s. The hercules will be the first one that can use the full current 42mb/s. Thats why I'm dying to clock a Hercules.. its the first and only phone capable of that speed and I'm hoping to be impressed.
If Tmobile is still around in the spring of next year they are going to upgrade it to 84mb/s.
Is LTE better for the long run? heck yea. noone is arguing that. My point has always been if the speeds are about the same for your world, why would u pay more than double?
Data devices normally get higher speeds.. im pretty sure the network gives them priority. However if you look at the bionic article and watch the video at the end it shows all his speedtest results. Most of them were in the 20-30mb/s mark. Thats impressive as hell. If VZW has quietly made their LTE more powerful than they take back the speed king crown at least for now.
116. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
yeah, T-Mobile is pretty much the only other carrier i would go to if i ever decided to leave Verizon but there's a fat chance on that because i'm grandfathered into 4 lines of unlimited data. the only reason my family and i got Verizon so many years ago is because my dad travels the U.S. and he needed the more reliable network.
i'll be looking forward to seeing how far T-Mobile can push HSPA+ in real world use.
57. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
remixfa, in real world use Verizon's LTE is well ahead of T-Mobile's HSPA+ i'm aware T-Mobile is getting phones now that can dip into their pipelines more (i don't know if T-Mobile does this but AT&T has different categories of HSPA+ handsets) but as LTE equipment is advancing so are the speeds. look at Engadget's first hands-on with the LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 it blew their minds when they did the speed tests.
72. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
thank you sir. see what I mean you make more sense..
77. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
here's the link btw.
also to be clear here. T-Mobile does have a good 4G network, in order from worst 4G network to best i would say it's AT&T < Sprint < T-Mobile < Verizon
however as far as 4G reliability that's up in the air between T-Mobile and Verizon where i live anyway (i ruled out Sprint because WiMAX frequencies are just so weak) because i live in Orlando, FL and we're pretty blanketed in LTE coverage but between the Thunderbolt and the Charge i've had they switch between 3G & 4G much more than they should.
108. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
orlando is a test area for Tmobile. It was the first to get 42mb/s and if we survive long enough it will be the first to get 84mb/s. :) Up here in Jacksonville, the city is pretty strongly covered in 4g. I only ever lose it in dense buildings.
120. MASIOX (unregistered)
Well it is better to have more options and "ACTUAL" iNnovation from a different phones and makers than to stick to the same model, same OS, and same crap year after year and keep raising the price
9. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4746; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
Sprint's Samsung Galaxy S II will have WiMAX 4G! That is WAY FASTER than 3G on Verizon! Plus it's unlimited data. It's a win win for anyone who lives in a 4G town. Where I live my HTC Evo 3D gets 6 to 12 Mbps. I am totally fine with that. That speed kills anything running 3G. Imagine the Samsung Galaxy S II at those 4G speeds. All I can say is WOW!
22. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
i get more than that on my 4g tablet from tmobile. since the phone will be the first at the new 42mb/s speeds, im hyped to benchmark it and see where the network REALLY sits with speed.
26. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4746; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
That is GREAT. I wish I had that. Where I live there is very strong WiMAX & LTE coverage. T-Mobile is ok, no one I know gets those insane speeds you speak of, but it's way better than AT&T's HSPA+. My HTC Evo 3D is faster than the Vibrant 4G, but not by much! Again that is here where I live. AT&T's 3G is almost as fast as their 4G. I think AT&T will get better once their LTE is up, because here where I live the HSPA+ is a total joke. My buddies Motorola Atrix gets outclassed by my HTC Evo 3G, & my old Samsung Epic 4G any time.
30. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
it seems like Tablets get much higher network speeds than phones. you should see Speed Tests for the LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1. Engadget's peaked out at 40 something mbps. it was the damnest thing i've ever seen.
33. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4746; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
Sh*t that is INSANE. 40 Mbps is unreal! LTE is the only way to go. I can't wait until Sprint rolls out their LTE. So until then I am very happy with my 6 to 12 Mbps on my Sprint WiMAX 4G. Plus it's unlimited, with no throttling! I really can't complain!
49. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
data cards normally get a little higher. i think they are coded that way to impress the "business class" customers that normally buy them. 40mbs is nothing to sneeze at though.. lol. Was it a 1 time spike or were they able to repeat that multiple times?
62. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
ah i see, that distinction hadn't come to me. that's a big speed increase though i'm sure you agree. that's actually where they peaked in the hands-on treatment so between my own tests and ones i see i'd say it averages out somewhere in the early 30mbps range.

since you became an isheep youve been trolling more now and talking out of your butt most of the time..! So now that you have an iphone your some how better than everybody??
( my 2cents )
27. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
i still like you though.. galaxy... hey some of my predictions became true.. i said that sammy plays with people emotions and I was right... to much hype around this phone sfor months and no oficial date for a US release.. i still dont have an iphone so still an outsider on that part.. i do have the ipad2.. though... and to be fair.. most people around here do speak from their butts... so i am not better than every body else... but i do play one on tv...
46. s (unregistered)
Sound like apple much ? Playing ppls emotion?
59. GALAXY-S (Posts: 701; Member since: 07 Jun 2011)
lol well same here! .. but gallito of coarse your perdictions will be true !! they have been playing around with peoples feelings, just like apple is playing with yours and the release of iphone5, come on mostly everybody that is constantly on this website loves phones and will obviously get exited when their favorite device is soon to come.., but who knows maybe their plans are good??
yea im actually wanting to purchase an ipad 2 aswell those are badazz i must admitt..lol yea but now you speak more with your butt than you used to
75. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
i will take that as a compliment.. lol... i dont care what they say. my ipad2 is flawless.. i will give my girfriend the transformer. a good tablet ..that way we both have quality products.. but i will the better one... hope she is not reading this..jejejej
109. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
let me toss a little bit of knowledge at ya,
Its not up to samsung when they release a phone in the US, its up to the carriers. Around the rest of the world its not so difficult, but in the US the carriers have a much bigger say in what the phone will look like, act like ,and what kind of wonderful bloatware it will have installed.
You really think samsung WANTS to wait 6 months to release its hottest phone ever in its biggest market? lol. What logic would that make?
Its also the same with the updates. Thats why the rest of the world got 2.3 on the SGS1 6 months ago and the US carriers are still sitting on it. It doesnt get OTA until the carriers say it can.
19. MaskedZebra (unregistered)
I'm struggling to make sense of that sentence, all it makes clear is that you overuse full stops.
38. twenti7 (Posts: 152; Member since: 09 Jul 2011)
"Verizon is the only smart for not offering this phone that will live up to the hype"
You're definitely right about it living up to the hype, tho I have a feeling that's not what you were trying to say.
And as far as Verizon being smart, well they are incredibly stupid for not carrying this phone. Verizon doesn't have a single phone that can stand with Sprint's Photon and EVO 3D, and the SGSII is a better phone than either of those.
47. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
I wanted to say will not live to the hype... why is it that people define a phone based on specs.. not sales..??..when you say better then either of those phones.. u mean in sales????... the EVO 3D has done nothing to the EVO brand,,, the Photon si so new to say that has been working... the SGII?? has no release date( official).. so I think you menat specs. and is something we have learn when we comes to specs.... nobody cares but techies... but I do agree verizon line up is weak.. but as long as verizon is number one they can reject the SGII who cares.. the wil carry the top dog.. iphone 5.. the phone .. that sells
63. twenti7 (Posts: 152; Member since: 09 Jul 2011)
Of course I meant specs. What logical person judges how good something is soley on how well it sells? According to your thinking, the origional EVO is a better phone than the EVO 3D simply because it still sells better.
And I have no doubt that the iPhone 5 will sell like crazy. Apple's marketing has made it almost legendary. But that alone won't mean that it is the best phone out there, let alone a good phone at all. Now I have no doubt that it will be a fantastic phone, I'm just making a point that if the only thing you look at is the sales numbers, you perception will be way off.
78. gallitoking (Posts: 4717; Member since: 17 May 2011)
you are a techie.. for you specs guide you... i am a sales man.. for me sales. dictates if a products suceeds or not.. we are in two different worlds.. my friend... i am not saying your are wrong.. but most people are guide by sales... Jersey Shore is a piece of crap show.. but draws audience and sells.. so is still on the air.. sales...
110. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
that is exactly how iSheep think. The iphone is the best because it sells the most. End of discussion.
As far as sales, gallito, somehow u think that samsung selling 3 million units in a couple of days when it was only launched in korea at the time is something to sneeze at?? Lets launch the iphone in a small country only and see what happens.
Had it been a world wide launch like iphones tend to be the numbers would have been much much higher.
