Alcatel Idol 5 visits Geekbench for the second time
Earlier this month, the Alcatel Idol 5appeared on the GFXBench benchmark website for the second time. Today, the same handset made a second appearance on Geekbench. The version of the phone that was tested today featured the Snapdragon 625 chipset under the hood. For the test, the octa-core CPU ran at a clock speed of 2.21 GHz, and 3GB of RAM was included. Today, the phone managed to tally improved single-core and multi-core test scores of  929 and 4410, respectively. A similar test in February produced a single-core score of 824 and a multi-core score of 3421

The remaining specs for the Idol 5 include a 5.2-inch screen, featuring a 1080 x 1920 resolution. A 12MP camera will adorn the back of the phone, with an 8MP front-facing snapper that shoots selfies and handles video chats.

Based on the various benchmark tests, it appears that there will be a version of the phone offered in the states, and one offered in Asian markets. The former will be powered by the Snapdragon 625, while the latter will have the MediaTek 6757CH under the hood with an octa-core 2.3GHz CPU, and the Mali-T880 GPU.

There is no word on when the Alcatel Idol 5 will be introduced officially. Keep checking in for the latest rumors, leaks and news.
