Alcatel Idol 5 appears on GFXBench once again, this time with a slight change

The unannounced Alcatel Idol 5 (Alcatel 6060) has appeared on GFXBench two times this year. The first time was last month, and the second time is today. Both appearances show that the phone will feature a 5.2-inch display carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution (FHD), 32GB of native storage, a 12MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP selfie shooter. The earlier GFXBench post showed the Snapdragon 625 chipset running the show with an octa-core 2.0GHz CPU and the Adreno 506 GPU.

But today's GFXBench listing has the MediaTek 6757CH SoC under the hood with an octa-core 2.3GHz CPU, and the Mali-T880 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside. These specs are exactly the same as the ones we saw for the Alcatel Idol 5S on GFXBench back in March, but with one change; that model had 3GB of RAM instead of 2GB.

It is possible that the different versions of the phone are each meant for a certain region. For example, the Model equipped with the Snapdragon SoC could be heading to the states while the MediaTek powered models are bound for Asia. It's a lot to take in to be sure, and we'd bet some good money on the possibility that some future leaks will unravel all of this confusion prior to the unveiling of the device.
