AirSage using anonymous data from Verizon to provide traffic information
There are just some things we rely on nowadays that aid us in our daily lives. Sometimes we get into our cars in the morning for our commute to work and just gasp at the traffic our GPS enabled mobile phone gets us into. Verizon Wireless came to an agreement with AirSage, a provider of wireless signaling data for value added applications, to provide improved real-time traffic information. They will be collecting anonymous signaling data from Big Red and integrate it into their patented Wireless Signal Extraction Technology platform – potentially quadrupling their coverage. So what's all of this going to do for you commuting to work? We're guessing it'll accurately get you out of that pesky morning rush hour traffic so your boss will be impressed by your early arrival.
