As ordered by Judge Lucy Koh, a heavily redacted copy of the agreement between Apple and HTC was filed with the court...

Unlike nokia's selling out to microsoft, htc's deal with the devil is costing them money. We all know that Elop wanted to short nokia's stock so that microsoft could buy it on the cheap but the lumia range is selling to well for that now. Htc however was on the verge of winning a lte battle with apple but now has to pay apple??? Plus this only means that apple can now easily implement android features in ios 7. Did htc expect to be bought out by apple? Too bad. Apple stock is plunging fast. Too much top quality samsung and nokia phones. Not to mention very good sony, lg, moto, lenovo and huiwei. Sorry htc. I'll never buy your product now. I'll just watch as your stocks plung too. Hopefully you get acquired by samsung and not apple.

The agreement was a cross licensing agreement...
You do understand that winning one battle in a war doesn't conclude the outcome of a war. There's so many patents involved, LTE is just a part of it.
I don't support this action of HTC, but I do see that this is perhaps better for them. With the losing market share and revenue, they can't put up legal battles with Apple. It's better for them to just settle and focus on their product to make it back into the game.
I don't really see anyone winning the war with Apple until Samsung wins, Samsung is the only brand that could actually put up a fight with Apple. Once Samsung wins, other brands could be like "Hey, Samsung didn't infringe, how are we infringing?"

HTC did the right thing and signed a licensing agreement. I don't understand why Samsung cant do the same thing.

HTC rolled because they didn't have much of an alternative. Sammy has more options. It really is that simple.
Don't be surprised if the judgement that Apple received against Sammy ultimately doesn't stand. I suspect it will be a black day for you, but there is life afterward.

Either way, i still hope that Samsung will fight this thing to the end. I'd still prefer the endless possibilities of Google, Samsung and other OEMs. The best Apple can do is to draw pretty pictures which they can't even manufacture correctly.

HTC is just a phone company, they way dont have enough funds for lawsuits. Others like Sony to SS or LG dont only have smartphones and have craploads of revenue so they can afford to do it. Wish they did though, apple patents cant get anymore retarded..

HTC still threw whatever funds they have Apple's way.

Less what goes in the attorney's pockets and potential compensations that will definitely be more than the loyalties they have to pay.

Your mind only sees and hears and reads what it wants to...apparently.

You'd have to be with HTC, apple, or one of their legal teams to know.
