Ad compares low-light photography on Nokia Lumia 928 with Apple iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4
0. phoneArena 21 May 2013, 09:15 posted on
Thanks to the more complex cameras that have been placed on handsets lately, the ability of a smartphone's camera to take decent shots in less than optimal lighting has become a feature to be used to promote certain models; no OEM has used this more than Nokia, but that really shouldn't be surprising considering the capabilities of the snapper on the Nokia Lumia 920...

nokia are known at their customer care services , long history in making good products and never disappoint a customer , innovations ( unlike others who think adding a fifth row of icons and making the phone taller is innovation or adding higher MP camera that has allot of noise , putting 8 cores in a phone in favor to fight laggness and crashness and lastly a bigger screen and same old design as their last year flagship ) TRUST ME THATS NOT INNOVATION
ALSO LUMIA SALES ARE NOT FALLING , JUST LOOK AT EACH QUARTER RESULT ( LUMIA SALES ARE GROWING ONE MILLION IN EACH QUARTER )

Yes, me and all those who give you a red thumb.
Nokia Number 2 in mobile sales

Have more questions?

So far, that is a total of 10 people who are Nokia customers (based on the red thumb down count).
Perhaps you should have some of your friends register with PA and add to the red thumb down count? (Dunno)

I own a Lumia 920, and the device is rock solid. I am very pleased with my purchase!

i agree with what your saying the lumias are good but i would rather nokia stop focusing on future tech like all there concepts and focus on actually perfecting the lumias.

Cpu, Gpu, Ram, screen upgrade...

Apple has been a great company, they are just tired now lol but we never know, something big might happen..
Samsung and Apple are just borrowing Sony's sensor, so optimizing it very well is a great feat.
Android manufacturers are not advertising bigger screen as innovation, it was just brought for consumers' interest.. The makers of the displays hold the term innovation for this--the thought of enhancing displays especially young technologies like OLED.
These cores and cores are not just about fighting lags and crashes, Android requires tough processors and software optimization due to the nature of Android platform.. I think you are mislead by the 8core thing.. Such architecture can really run 8 cores but Samsung opted to run only 4a15 and 4 a7 for heavy and low performance rendering, respectively.. The technology also wants to address power efficiency.. It is still a new tech okay.
Same old design, lumias have the same design okay, putting metal would not differentiate the look..
Nokia is a great company, no doubt and android manufacturers also have great camera techs-ultrapixel and Sony Honami's offering
I do believe that only Android can make Nokia back on top..

NOkia did a good job on the screen! totally won this test.
54. Topcat488 (Posts: 1141; Member since: 29 Sep 2012)
Nokia innovation would have been if they had chosen "Android"... You talk about this company like it's selling 10 million phones in its first two weeks... Stop putting down other brands, if you want people too like your brand... You're not the Law you know.
4. mr.techdude (Posts: 543; Member since: 19 Nov 2012)
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW, NOKIA is scared of HTC one`s ultrapixle camera that's why they didn't put it in the the ad, silly Nokia just picks on the weak although I heard that the s4 can be put ten on night mode which then fares well against HTC one.
9. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1619; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
hahaha oh dear really another anti-nokia troll, well hate to dissapoint you but the Ones camera has nothing on nokias in daylight or nightime just look it up on youtube instead of posting obsolete rubbish....
56. mr.techdude (Posts: 543; Member since: 19 Nov 2012)
U do have a point there bro, can't argue with that but when I said the s4 on night mode shot fairing well against the HTC one it clearly doesn't mean that its on par, NO definitely not it just means that its much betta then what it takes on standard mode, HTC one does have the best low light camera. Do u agree? Entirely your choice
59. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1619; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
Hmmm I disagree but as you said it's my choice so thank you :)
16. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
you clearly missed the point
first there comparing to the 2 most popular devices out there with there device. the general audience will instantly recognise these devices so its smart advertising
as for the HTC one, great device one of the suprises of the year really but your comment is so off its unbelievable. the 920 was arguably better then the HTC one in low light so how are they scared?the ultrapixel camera is in its infancy and rough around the edges right now. nokia are veterans in the camera department no one can deny this.
''although I heard that the s4 can be put ten on night mode which then fares well against HTC one.''
well you just disproved your point, if the s4 can fair against the HTC one and the 928 is better then the s4 it stands to reason the HTc ONE would fair the same with your logic
26. Whateverman (Posts: 3198; Member since: 17 May 2009)
Although I somewhat agree with mr.techdude (I think the One's camera is the biggest threat to Nokia's crown. Side by side shots would be too close to call and would not be a smart choice for a comparison.), you bring up and excellent point. The GS4 and iPhone 5 are the two biggest names in tech, at least from a general consumer's standpoint. So of course these would be the two devices Nokia wants its showdown with. Putting the One in the mix would be giving HTC the brand recognition it can't afford to give itself right now, and raise more questions and curiosity about this new HTC device that some may find more appealing. My point, this was a very smart play by Nokia, and if I were a general consumer, it might sway my decision in Nokia's favor.

hahahahaha samd@ngs camera is nt comparable to htc one , and frget bout comparing it to nokia. Due to some software techniques samd@ng is making waves dats all. Otherwise the biggest threat to nokia is from htc and ro some extent sony. I guess this comparison done by phoenarena is nt dat much biased as it used to be in past. Iphn loses in every department( except for those costly paid apps and games ). And m waiting for 925 and samd@@gs comparison as well . Hope 925 beats the sh@t out f samd@@g as well. Anyways samd@ng phones are real cheap plastic. Atleast Nokia phones feel premium in hands. .hope dis micrsoft will give some timely updates and change according to the market needs. Cos the only thing stopping nokia,s tech is only the o.s. Cheers

I take it you're not a big fan of Samsung. That's your choice, but the pictures coming from my Note 2 have not failed to amaze any who see them. Is it the best camera out there, no. But does it have to be, no. And that's the point many people are missing wether you hate Samsung, Nokia, Apple, or whatever. Every device from all these OEM's have their own "Best at" feature going for them. Their camera's are good enough that customers pick more Samsung devices than they do Nokia's, so that cheap plastic isn't effecting Samsung's sales, but how much is Nokia's camera helping their's? People love great picture quality, but there are many other things to consider and that stuff is what Samsung does very well.
6. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1619; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
without a doubt nokia is probably the best smartphone cameras but i wish they would focus of other things now....like hardware e.g..processor ( i know its not neccasary but almost evry flagship smartphone has a top end processor these days!)or maybe add more features to its WP apps as im getting tired of there only boasting right being the camera...but even still good ad.
8. Rorschach (Posts: 37; Member since: 26 Apr 2013)
I want a phone with good apps.. to heck with low light
11. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1619; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
those will come dont worry...what do you think Google play or app store had 1million apps overnight!?
15. rahulz (Posts: 117; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
Its simple, if you prefer a smartphone with great camera for capturing your precious moments then Lumia is the best choice for you.
oh by the way windows phone is not something that you cant live with, its pretty cool when you get used to.
17. sergiobr (Posts: 416; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
Compare in sunlight , and the OS + hw etc. Nokia is fighting to survive, but just low light photos doesn´t help. First of all change for Android.
20. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
two words -shut up
seriously begging for android again whats wrong with you move the hell on
compare in sunlight-it will probably be on par with the s4 etc
os-down to choice and preference android isnt for everyone. all os's have there advantages
29. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
i didnt defend wp or nokia all i did was state how pathetic these fanboys are that keep commenting on the never to happen in the fore see-able future nokia+android
ive not slated anything device in my comment so wheres the defensive part
42. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5751; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
Um... How about this:
1. "two words -shut up"
2. "seriously begging for android again what's wrong with you move the hell on"
Reading those plus other comments you have made, one could reasonably conclude you are feeling defensive when comments are made about Nokia that are less than adulatory.
50. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
see i can say the same about you as your comments on other articles show your only pro android
you even say that lumia's are POS on one of your comments so your stance is broken. so when these fanboys keep going on about android and nokia there isnt a point where it becomes old and pathetic?
your only finding a problem with this as he said android and your pro android, if there were comments on android articles saying something like
'' id buy a s4 if it was on wp8'' over and over you would be one of them to reply but you would slate wp8 in your reply i havent slated any os in mine
64. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 5751; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
Ummm, POS means Point Of Sale in the context I was using it (MS store).
28. sergiobr (Posts: 416; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
Just one statement ... Consumer-Reports-votes-Samsung-Galaxy-S4-as-best-phone-of-the-season. Bye Nokia. By the way ... how much do you receive from Nokia ? Try to change ! Join us in a better world ;-) ... And ... buy a camera !
31. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
are you stupid? or just broken
so this one consumer report means everything now lmao funny how when theres surveys and reports shining a good light on HTC,Apple, Nokia, BB etc you all cry fake yet anything good for samsung gets accepted without question....funny
as for your sad little comment
''Try to change ! Join us in a better world ;-) ... And ... buy a camera !''
why would i resort to carrying 2 devices when nokia lets me have it all in one. for me an excellent camera is important so nokia are first choice followed by sony if the rumors are true.
you need a reality check, go dissapear on the samsung articles your just another fanboy clone
32. sergiobr (Posts: 416; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
If you want a camera device try Nokia Pureview ! This one is really a camera. My advice ... wait until Nokia EOS come. Don´t be so stupid wasting your money ! Nokia is trying to increase models and sales.
34. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1619; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
wait so at first you say nokia is dead and now you say nokia is increasing models and sales....bit hypocritical dont you think.....
33. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1619; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
hahaha how old are you sound about 12....join us? who you and your imaginery freindin a world where the only manufacturers are samsung?! The whole point of a phone with a camera since 2004 with the first camera phone is that you use the camera not just stare at it...i think you are the oe who is in the past my friend, and just because the rival phone is awarded the best doesnt count a company out all together...thats like saying oh...s4 won so by bye all other phone manufacturers....please dont post utter bulls**t!!!!!
37. sergiobr (Posts: 416; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
... Try a better argument. That´s enough I have to work ... adios
40. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
Don't argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level"

22. xperiaDROID (Posts: 5406; Member since: 08 Mar 2013)
In your dreams! Nokia won't change to Android.
Windows Phone + Nokia = TRUE NOKIA MASTERPIECE!
30. sergiobr (Posts: 416; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
I LOVE Nokia Pureview ! But the rest ... Nokia should go to Android, and wins the competition.
35. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1619; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
they wouldnt win in the android arena as it hs samsung which accounts for 1in3 of all smartphone sales and there is no point joining the rest of the heard in android when you can be different and have a seperate selling point...even if elop is in bed with microsoft....
21. xperiaDROID (Posts: 5406; Member since: 08 Mar 2013)

The Lenovo K900 takes amazing Low light photos but they are hard to find online. There really are no reviews, the K900 is super under rated.

46. dre786 (Posts: 44; Member since: 10 Nov 2012)
i really dont think Nokia should go android it too laggy and would demand more hardware power like the S4 and One
48. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1619; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
haha laggy, it really isnt but yeh i do agree with you nokia should stay with WP
49. dre786 (Posts: 44; Member since: 10 Nov 2012)
WP8 is smooth without 8cores and all that Ram its just smooth you should use it oh and all the talk about apps they have a large amount of quality apps to choose from and more on its ways
52. selena1000 (Posts: 83; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
