Acer's Windows 10 Liquid Jade Primo flagship smartphone finally on sale in the US for $649

In September of last year, Acer announced a new Windows 10 flagship smartphone, called the Liquid Jade Primo. During our hands-on with the Liquid Jade Primo at CES 2016, we were mostly pleased by what's on offer with this smartphone.

Now, many months later, the Acer Liquid Jade Primo is finally going on sale in the US for $649. This may seem like a steep price, but it is not for the handset alone. The package also includes a desktop dock for using Continuum, a keyboard and mouse, as well as an AC power adapter and power cord.

There is still no word on when – or if at all – the announced in April Premium Pack will go on sale. The Liquid Jade Primo Premium pack is promised to include all the aforementioned extras, as well as a monitor. Around the same time, Acer also announced a portable Continuum dock with a laptop form-factor, similar to HP's Mobile Extender for the HP Elite x3, but there is no official release date for this one as well.

The Acer Luqid Jade Primo features a 5.5-inch full HD 1080 x 1920 AMOLED screen, a 21MP main shooter and 3GB of RAM, backed with a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 CPU and a not-at-all-impressive 2800 mAh battery. That falls a bit short when compared to the Lumia 950 XL (which by the way is going for around $100 less than the Liquid Jade Primo) and its 2K display and 3340 mAh battery. For more info, take a look at how the two handsets compare specs-wise.
