Acer unveils ICONIA SMART, a beast with 4.8-inch screen and 480 x 1024 resolution
If we put the sheer size of its screen aside, the Acer ICONIA SMART will also offer a 21:9 aspect ratio and an impressive resolution of 480 x 1024. The rest of its specs are not to be underestimated either - it packs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 2 cameras (the rear one offers 8MP and LED flash, while the front facer is 2MP), Android 2.3 and all the connectivity options we have come to expect from modern smartphones - like Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth plus DLNA.
Price information about this beast is not available, but we know its UK release date is May 1. Excited?

Why did you tablet/smartphone??? 4.8 does not make this a tablet? Very nice smart phone. No dual-core? Shame, would have been great phone with dual-core. You would think by now most manufacturers would realize that to most users the screen size isnt too big a deal. Its the quality of the product. I could make you a 6.2 inch screen smart phone but if it is Retina or Samsung Plus or BRIVA engine it has no place on the market. You can make your screen whatever size you want but if it isnt bright and low resolution who care. Also where is the hdmi? Please provide a lot more details before posting something like this.

I'll wait for the 10 inch display with a 10 core processor and 48,000 megapixel camera with 10 xenon flash and eleven front facing cameras with 20,000,0000gb internal memory with a 12,000ghz processor speed with a display resolution of 20,000 x 100,000 with 28million colors with triple 3d and bulletproof. I'm sure they can come up with that in a couple of weeks :) Sending text messages would be so much better.
