Acer ICONIA TAB A100 is aiming for a September release; possibly with Android 3.2
So far, the only offering consumers have in regards to Honeycomb flavored tablets from Acer is none other than the reasonably price ICONIA TAB A500. Needless to say, some people will like its plentiful 10.1” display, but for others who prefer something more portable, we’re sure they’re eying the upcoming Acer ICONIA TAB A100 instead.

Well, they’ll have to gleam with envy just a bit longer because it appears that the 7” tablet will be launching some time in September – according to Acer Germany’s response to an inquisitive Facebook fan. As we all know, it was initially expected to roll out back in the spring, but since then, we’ve seen the tablet’s release being pushed to the second half of the year – and of course, the September time frame fits in perfectly. Still, the company hasn’t divulged any reasons in regards to its delay.

Nevertheless, it’s still being reported to being on track of having Android 3.2 Honeycomb when it’s release – albeit, Google warned that the interface isn’t meant to run on smaller display sizes. Moreover, the A100 will share a lot of hardware similarities with its fuller sibling – like the same NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU and dual cameras. In terms of memory, it’s looking to size up with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage – though, there will also be a 16GB version as well.
