Kickstarter is a place where lots of cool and innovative ideas are transformed into real, tangible products. One such project is the US3 Drive, which combines three functions into a single device that easily fits into any pocket. The accessory is essentially a USB thumb drive that comes with a built-in capacitive stylus that works on the screens of pretty much all smartphones and tablets today...

Do people actually find capacitive styluses useful?
I always see so many gimmicky products with an attached stylus, too. I think they're much worse than using your finger -- because at least with your finger, you can feel the contact and can tell which exact part of the screen is getting touched. The squishiness of a fat stylus makes the contact erratic.

Depends what one is doing with it.
My mom is arthritic, and so her accuracy and dexterity are sometimes compromised, so using a stylus allows her to be more accurate with her presses (although a bit slower, it's more accurate). Plus it allows her to better see what's on the screen without losing her place.
