AT&T's servers have been having so many problems that the carrier's employees are using pen and paper to take iPhone pre-orders...

Why is this news???? This happens every time ATT gets a new iphone...its like earthquakes in CA. I'm used to them already so i don't need to hear about them on the news.......

o my i live in miami so i obviously didnt feel it .. but they said on the news it was a 5.9 i know i wud have shit my pants if i felt a 5.9 earthquake .. thats why i avoid california ..

yes it was 5.9 n the worst part was that there were 34 aftershocks! were i live in orange county we felt all 34 aftershocks it was hell !!

And wait for June 24, it is gonna be a very dark day for VZW like it has been for the past 3 yrs.....!!! a lot of people leaving your 8th wonder of the world slow-rizon network for the iphone.....!!!!

yea, doggie, and then a few months later, VZW turns on LTE and the iphone 4 is long forgotten, just like the last few iphones have been overshadowed by top end android sets. High end android + LTE = Iwhat?!? High end android + 21/mbs HDSPA+ (tmobile) + half price plan = Iwhat!? (uhh.. when they get another high end android phone of course..lol) High end android + Wimaxx = Iwhat?!? a barely working ATT network that cant even handle orders much less the actual phone's usage = high churn to the other carriers!! :) lol I for one, cant wait for the iphone 4 to be jailbroken. Then all those pissed customers will come to Tmobile and get no contract service for half price on a faster network.

waTEva i have traveled to 13 different states for work n to see family n verizon was waaaay faster n more reliable than at&t in all those places .. also if u have ever gone to san fransisco u wud know that its impossible to make calls with at&t n use there 3G network most of the time during the day . while verizon works fine . so i wouldnt call it slowrizon ...

So what....??? they can switch on whatever they want but still they don't have what most people likes THE IPHONE.....in 2009 alone SLow-rizon lost 1.2 millions suscribers due to the iphone and that doesn't count from other carriers......Still dark days ahead for your cellco fanboy the contract with AT&T ends in 2012....!!!!!

you do realize that BOTH verizon and ATT are going to be on the SAME LTE network dont you? do your homework the reason why verizon has no iphone, nor any other carrier right now, is because they cant handle the data. ATT has the 1up on everyone because they had a headstart on all the problems coming from high data using phones.

atnt has had 3 years to fix their iphone/network problems, yet they still can't seem to get that one right. verizon is over a year ahead of atnt in the LTE department.

well i think every company can have a few problems here n there. but it seems to me at&t ALWAYS has problems . its very rare when u hear about verizon ,sprint or even t-mobile having problems im not saying they dont have problems they do. but most of the time its always at&t thats why i cancelled my service with them . because i had all kind of problems connecting to there crappy 3G network ..

There were probably like 10s of thousands of people rushing in to buy the phone at the same time. How do you prepare for something like that?

dude, its not like it was "suprize, i cant believe we have preorders, what do we do!?!" they knew for months and months in advance. You enhance your network. The same thing they keep telling customers they are doing but it never seems to manifest.

Have you all ever heard of crashing the server? It is what happens when the bottleneck is too thick. Which is exactly what happens when almost every Terminal in every AT&T Store (and Best Buy's Mobile stations, and Walmart's and Radio Shack's and Wirefly's, whomever is allowed to sell / offer pre-orders...) is trying to access the ordering servers at the same time, while the company is simultaneously trying to upgrade the network at the central offices.

No different than isues with the itunes server when everyone was activating their phones the last 3 times....just wait a few weeks and you can walk into any of the above named stores to purchase an iphone 4. People are just uptight and full of themselves nowadays - we live in a "ME FIRST" society....
