A good rule of thumb: If you have to force something to fit somewhere, it probably shouldn't be going in there.

At least in terms of cell phones....

When we got WWAN cards back at my job a few years ago, whoever ordered them got all ExpressCards, while most of the corporate laptops still only had PCMCIA slots. Co-workers would come to me and say "it doesn't fit". So I'd look, and tell them that ExpressCards don't fit in a PCMCIA slot. Some people had rammed the cards in the slot so hard to try to get it to fit, that there were bent and broken pins.

ok they should accept returns from Quickfire owners and give them Propels or Maxtrixes

5. *HOVA* posted on 25 Feb 2009, 15:35

Ummmm, it's really an error of idiot users who don't know how to plug it in so I'm not sure why AT&T should support their idiotic tendencies??? True it's a design flaw, but it's not too hard to just plug it in the right way...

9. LGVX1993 posted on 25 Feb 2009, 17:53

True true. It's the people fault but if they're gonna stop selling them they should atleast offer a replacement phone maybe for a fee of like 50 dollars or something

13. Galen20K posted on 25 Feb 2009, 22:29

No sorry, its all ATT's Fault, as Neglectful as EVER and they ALWAYS will be first and foremost for them even letting something as critical and dangerous to safety even allowed on their *cough* Network in the first place. Most phones that have caught on Fire were released on their under par Network, tho I would argue that their terrible service is what REALLY caused the phones to explode.

yup....... idiot.

Wow, I'll just leave that alone because it's the dumbest thing I've ever read.... In regards to the valid comment, they actually are offering exchanges for phones under warranty experiencing problems for the Pantech Matrix and the Propel....

7. mastertopher posted on 25 Feb 2009, 16:54

I've read somewhere that the Quickfire is going to get a 2nd generation upgrade. So...I guess it was good that I didn't think to get this phone yet. I wonder how the Quickfire 2 will look. It looks like AT&T has finally got it's own Sidekick-like rival line against T-Mobile.

10. Slayor721 posted on 25 Feb 2009, 19:07

i dont think so. sidekicks are wayyy better then the Quickfire. the keyboard on the Quickfire is really small plus AT&T pulled it of shelves after a few months. and they say it didnt meet their standards plus the sidekicks have been goin for years now. im not sayin the sidekicks are the best but i would rather get a sidekick than the quickfire.

11. Jyakotu posted on 25 Feb 2009, 20:21

The Quickfire just needs a better touch screen and probably bigger buttons, but the QWERTY keyboard wasn't that hard to type on IMO when I tried it.

17. jenbunny posted on 26 Feb 2009, 12:30

I like the keyboard too. I just wish I would have been smart and bought a name brand, then maybe I would have avoided the annoying things about it-plus fire.

DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT I totally work for ATT warranty and exchange. DAMNIT. I do NOT want to deal with anymore 15 year old girls today.

16. jenbunny posted on 26 Feb 2009, 12:14

So I'm not 15. I called and waited on hold for 40 minutes, I feel for you, but what the heck am I going to do? My touchscreen freezes, and I keep accidentally calling the wrong person b/c the touchscreen sucks, and now my house is going to catch on fire. What is a 30 year old, college educated, home owner to do??? Will there be an exchange program? Grrr. (I feel for you. I do. I feel exactly as you do.)

18. heavybreathing posted on 26 Feb 2009, 14:21

18008011101. Thats our warranty exchange line. Ask to speak to a quickfire rep as we can't do it on our own, i'd give you the number but it's internal and we arn't allowed to give out that information.
