Whether it's insulting the iPhone by calling it a "misfit toy" or showing a comparison of 3G coverage between AT&T and Verizon, the former carrier wants the ads stopped...

IF YOU enlarge the PHOTO your so proud of and read the key it clearly states thats their "NATIONAL DATA" meaning 3G and EDGE. That is not soley 3G coverage. I find it funny the article also states "AT&T has the weakest 3G coverage map of the three national 3G providers. Verizon blankets entire regions with 3G, but AT&T's coverage generally comes in tight splotches around metro areas, leaving a lot of smaller cities off the grid. AT&T is particularly strong in California, west Texas, and Oklahoma, but outside of those areas it falls noticeably behind Verizon."

Apple better watch out because AT&T can be the cause of their downfall. I think AT&T should just drop the charges because Verizon isn't really lying. But saying that, I'm still not ready to give up my iphone. I'd rather stick with the network than have lame-o phone that I will hate after 6 months of use.

Ok, first off this new blurb is wrong. AT&T is the number one provider. They have way more customers now then Verizon. That's why Verizon is hitting back with false advertisement. The map they show for AT&T is their 3G only map from 2008. The current 2009 map has more coverage, because AT&T has expanded since the 2008 map was released. AT&T's current 3G map is close to the same coverage as Verizon's 3G map. Also, in the commercials Verizon shows you their 3G + Digital coverage map. If they wanted to show that they should have also included AT&T's 2G map over lapping their 3G. They also elude in the commercials that the user of the iPhone has no service at all unless he is with in the 2008 3G coverage areas and in the white areas he is service-less. Verizon is hitting below the belt, because they have a crapy mandated cell phone OS, a poor selection of inferior handsets and a 3rd world network. CDMA = has been! What's the point of having a smart phone that can't take phone calls and use data services at the same time? Smart phones have smart people that multitask that's why smart people don't chose Verizon Wireless.

Your an idiot. Verizon wireless has over 89 million subscribers to ATT's roughly 70million. Check your facts. If your iPhone had the 3G coverage maybe you can use it to google the correct information before you post next time.

Oh...by the way...if you want to see accurate coverage goto wireless.att.com click coverage viewer...select data...and zoom in one time to actually show the 3g as their default map shows you EDGE + 3G

Cody, I make this same arguement all the time. at&t purposefully puts the map like taht becuase their 3g coverage is sooooooo pathetic they don't want to outright post the coverage. It is blatantly misleading and it makes me laugh. AT&T needs to own up to the problem and make their 3g map larger, then maybe VZW would stop pounding the SH** out of them with the 5x more coverage ads.
