AT&T to start $100 trade-in plan on May 1st

You can by taking advantage of AT&T's $100 trade-in offer which begins on May 1st. Bring in any working mobile phone no older than 3 years of age, and in good working condition, to an AT&T retail location and the carrier will credit you immediately. The $100 can be used toward a new phone, accessories, or service.

If the value of your trade-in exceeds $100, you will receive credit for the higher figure. The trade-in offer is available for tablets, data cards and feature phones as well as for smartphones. AT&T says that last year it recycled 3.1 million phones and even set a world record for most handsets recycled in a one week period as certified by Guinness World Records.

While the program begins Wednesday, there is no date when the program ends. So if you are looking for a great price to purchase the Samsung Galaxy S4 or the HTC One, you might want to consider this deal, especially if your current phone was just going to end up in the back of a drawer anyway.
