AT&T to let the Samsung A877 go out the door by end of this month?
Some one threw the Phonedog a bone about a hot non-smartsphone that is said to be heading to AT&T before the end of this month. The Samsung A877 is chock full of features including a nice sized 3.2 inch AMOLED touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, full HTML browser, 3MP camera, GPS, 3G capabilities and TouchWiz interface. We cross our fingers that it will also have support of DivX and Xvid videos as some of the other high-end TouchWiz models. No info was given as to pricing, but the device is supposed to cross the cash register on March 29th. With AT&T customers looking for a messaging phone to replace the Quickfire, this model could be a great replacement.

All i want is for Verizon to get some nice non-smart messaging phones. I don't see why it's so hard for them.

because verizon likes to make as much money as they can.... "you want a nice querty keyboard phone, then pay for the data" -VZW and yes... they said those words exactly...

5. Legion posted on 10 Mar 2009, 18:53

Uh, no, they didnt. You were probably told "You want a nice PDA with a keyboard and email? Then you have to pay for the required data plan. Its a business tool not a toy." Oh and what do you call the Env2, voyager, alias, glyde, blitz, versa, and dare? Sheesh! Some people.

6. Steve24 posted on 10 Mar 2009, 19:15

Out of all the phones listed, the Versa and Dare are the only ones worth having. And of the Versa and Dare, only the Versa is for people who text a lot.

7. ccarrier012 posted on 10 Mar 2009, 19:16

He said qwerty. Is the Dare a qwerty? No. Also, the Glyde sucks and the Blitz is gay.

8. Legion posted on 10 Mar 2009, 19:19

The dare HAS a qwerty, its a touchscreen, physical or not was never specified. #6, I personally have an env2 among other phones and I have to say it is by FAR my favorite standard phone. Obviously it doesnt touch the omnia but it still kicks ass.

Env2 looks like a calculator in other words fugly and the keyboard sucks especially the space bars . Verizon really does need to step up in the non-smartphone QWERTY keyboard line.

Use an enV2 for a while and you'll grow to love it. I had one for like 3 months until it got stolen lol. The space bars arent really that big of a deal either.

AT&T has the best phone selection of any provider. I want to switch to a smaller, cheaper company but I keep getting drawn in to their awesome phones!

I've had always thought ATT needed to beef up their high end phones this will definately help. Im waiting to see that AMOLED display, since that's the same type of display on the Omnia HD. I also waiting to see about the rumored LG zenon, that's also supposed to touchscreen phone with QWERTY keypad! Good job ATT, hopefully
