The No.1 for how long a week or two? VZW's merg with Alltel is at the end of the month.

2. (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 15:50

I don't like at&t, but even for them that sucks for the employees, I think I would be stressed if I had read this and worked for them wondering if it would be me. If they're number 1, why would they really need to let people go if they supposedly make so much.

3. (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 15:58

a week or two? VZw has to divest 105 markets........ that is gonna take a lil longer than a week or 3 not to mention they have to give all the altell subscribers to option out. If you think altell subscribers will stay on you might be kidding yourself considering the major hike they are going to have to committ too...... Dont be gay all of your life

4. vzw fanman (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 16:10

haha lol so where would the altell subscribers go? to at&t or sprint? i would say most of them would stay with vz. i think he was being saracastic saying a week or two duhhhh

5. (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 16:25

You're naive to think that divesting markets will keep customers around. I've worked around similar situations in the wireless industry and one company telling customers, "sorry we can't offer you service anymore under this name... yada yada yada" generally doesn't make a customer too happy.

6. (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 16:26

Don't hate appreciate! Verizon is the #1 company now since the merge of Alltel. We do it big time baby!

7. (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 16:29

#3 don't be stupid all your life. It's called being grandfathered in. They will keep the same plans until they decide they WANT to change them. Verizon isn't going to make them change their plans, it would be stupid to. They will keep most of the customers, it's just how it will work. So please don't be stupid and ignorant all your life.

I hope that you're capable of following your own advice.

12. (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 18:41

we have to DIVEST 13 more markets, whixh is almost complete. Yes a week or two is a very accurate statement, we have already rolled out the welcome guides and transistional paperwork for alltel customers .

14. (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 19:26

apperantly you guys didnt read the article correctly. they said #1 phone company. not wireless company. they are talking about wireless and landline.

17. Me (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 20:34

Yeah, but that is the cheating way to do it...

20. (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 21:48

#5, you must work for AT&Tingular...

21. (unregistered) posted on 04 Dec 2008, 23:10

Are you all morons, or just lacking basic reading comprehension? They're talking about AT&T as whole, not just their wireless division.

I wanted to throw my hat into the mix and just state this. When Alltell Is dissolved into VZW, VZW will offer alltell custs to either keep their plans the way they are(for as long as they want, contract end date and beyond) or change to a VZW plan. Vzw has done the same with Qwest, Unicell, and others and will do the same with alltell customers. So my point is I only wish that people would think/research before they speak.

31. (unregistered) posted on 05 Dec 2008, 18:03

They did not do that when they acquired SureWest earlier this year... I wish that people would think/research before they speak... They lost a good amount of SureWest customers (as did they keep a good amount as well) due to the fact that they had shut off some people's service at the end of some set time given them by VZW. Many customers were not able to keep their plans and were given a set time to change. To be honest, I am not sure what you are thinking or where you are researching before you make some obscene claim like that. Verizon will not lose a crap-load of Alltell customers when the merge is completed. They will lose some, but not any number like half. To think Verizon will simply "let" all their newly acquired customers keep their exist plan AND features is asinine. Good luck. To you, take your own advice, do a little bit of your own homework, and quit being such a little VZW Fanboy Bitch.

#35. We retained 88% of SureWest customers when the aquisition took place, and those who were grandfathered in are still on thos plans. your full of shit GaYt&t cock rider.

57. (unregistered) posted on 06 Dec 2008, 20:46

Many SureWest customers received letters informing them that they could not keep their unlimited text features, some of their plans and so forth, bitch. I personally helped customers who received those letters AND customer who has their service completely shut off. Serious Dick Face, take the balls that Verizon has resting on your chin, and get a life.

58. (unregistered) posted on 06 Dec 2008, 20:47

Yeah, it is a little tough to be grandfathered in on a plan that was shut off, huh? Haha!
