According to a leaked document, AT&T is to change its Data Pay-Per-Use rate to $2 per megabyte…

This only effects people that establish service AFTER 7/31 OR change to it after 7/31!!! you cheap SOB- its people like you that force wireless providers to hike prices because you always want something for free, AT&T should cancel your service and blacklist you so you can never have at&t again!!!

Yea PPU is a choice of the subscriber so no ETF waiver.

you might want to start to spell check before you post moron.. and second of all we want to idolize verizon whos wireless profits dropped 21% last quarter.. ya that sounds like a good plan..

Driv14- From the press release, Verizon communications profits dropped, but verizon wireless profits increased. Big difference.

driv14 Sounds like you should read your news before posting on the forum. As goldciv said, Verizon Communication dropped, but Verizon Wireless profits increased. Sounds like following in Verizon Wireless's footsteps is a great business plan.

I guess AT&T's record earnings last year weren't enough. Maybe they should put some of that extra money towards upgrading their less than stellar 3g network.

You crack me up, At&t spends 3 times more (3.3 Billion) a year than Verizon on it's network and has done so since before when they were Cingular. They also ad 71 towers a WEEK. Lastly, every company's contract states that 'prices subject to change without notice.' Also, PPU is an option so it wouldn't apply to waive ETF's even if that were somehow an option. And they did this change because they need to stay competitive. When At&t makes a change, Verizon also will make the same change within a few months to stay competitive. Before, we had customers who wouldn't add a plan for data, and get a bill for $500-600 dollars. Then we changed it to a max of $99 could be charged for data overage. THEN we followed Verizon's footsteps after the made a good change to stay in the competitive loop. Companies do this because YOU, the stupidly ignorant Joe Shmoe, wants his network to look the best so he will find something ratardedly infinitestimally small like a pay-per-use price change to 'prove' his company is the best. Moron. This is what you sound like: "Wal-mart is better than Target because they had gumballs first. Wal-mart had to be a copycat." Bi%ch-slap yourself.

Nick, There are a few ways. If you are living somewhere that you have ZERO service, or move to a similar place,or if YOUR plan pricing was changed while in contract while no one else's was. Everyone has a bad story with another company. I am sorry your bad experience was with us. I have had bad experiences with Verizon and Qwest but that doesn't mean that they are bad companies, just treated me as an individual poorly. If you want to leave, however, I recommend you do NOT change your plan until you leave, if you need a new phone, do NOT upgrade (buy a prepaid phone and pop your smartchip in) and wait out your contract.

Ariel: Whenever a carrier wants to put a tower somewhere, they have to have it voted on if they want to use a parcel of land by YOU, a resident of that city (it comes in your ballots), Then, the FCC has to approve it based on the numbers of towers in that area and the imapct putting one in would have on their competition. At&t asks, but YOU and the FCC make the final decision.

That might be true and all, but its still an embarassment to all companies to have a deadzone in the middle of a major metropolitan city. You can't argue with that. And I doubt residents of NYC would argue about having an extra tower in the middle of the city...

Well, one thing I might add, Att is all american and one company I might add. Their the 2nd largest carrier. They have the best selection of phones and their not losing people. Also, at least they give you a choice were as on Bigred they make data mandatory on PDAs. And when Att updates their service to HSPA+ it'll be second to none. So, keep running your cock sucking mouths so att can keep doing good and profitable business. Good Day.
