For anyone interested in picking up this high-powered beauty, you’ll be blown away by the fact that it’s attached with a mind-bending on-contract price point of $99! Yes, it’s priced at a mere $100, which is undoubtedly...

According to the pre-order display at RadioShack it will be $79.99 on new or upgrades.

thats got to be a mistake. Thats some darn powerful hardware in there for a $100 launch price. Either there is something wrong with it that ATT knows and we dont, or its an intro price to get interest up.

Its only available for pre order at the shack not to pick up. And what happened to at&t sain befor for sure it will be out in summer then they changed it to sayin it will be out for sure in july??? i know they are havin a release party in NY tonight for it with janes addiction and people in the croud are suppost to be recording the concert in 3D with the phones so did those people get to buy them?? or did they just hand them out to random people and are gona take them back after the show?? i def would steal it and not give it back hahaha. And even way back befor they said it was goin to be the first 3D in the world witch it wasnt there was some wierd brand one in japan first cant think of the name right now, it did come out first in europe but japan is part of the world to if i remember correct from 1st grade haha. Then they said it would be first here and they got shamed by the evo and that came out of no where even was announced after the thrill and still came out first WTF?? now after all this waitin it has all old stuff on it, it should have 2.3 for sure the newest version and they should have gave it at least a gig of ram and a 1.2ghz or even 1.5ghz dual core and raised them cameras to 2x 8mp ones cause now there is talks of that samsung 3D phone commin later this year with that? Tech is gona start blazin and every one is gona have to get a new phone every week to have the coolest haha im just glad i have a federal goverment plan and get the same prices for a 1 year contract as i do for a 2 year so no more 2 year contracts for me im only takin the 1 year so i can get a new phone all the time and most of the time they let u get it 2-3 mounths befor the contract is really up so at least i can have some advantage in life haha....

I have mine pre ordered at radioshack, the final price is 79.99 with contract, I believe ATT will offer it at 99.99 with contract, places like radio shack and best buy always seem to be a bit cheaper because they get deals through the distributors. But the word is that the phone is upgradeable to 2.3 (Ginger) op system, just not pre installed, and yea, it has been pushed back enough and now has release date of Aug 7th, but being pushed back in the workd of technology is not always a bad thing, maybe they worked out more bugs, lol. And either way, its still a very powerful hand held device

What you guys are failing to recognize is the guaranteed money that AT&T makes when it locks every 2 year contract with a data plan. AT&T (Verizon, TMobile, Sprint... any big carrier) would make a substantial profit even if every single phone activated with a New line or an Upgrade was 100%, completely free, $0.00. The money they charge for the devices is just extra bank in their pocket.
That being said, obviously they're going to charge money for the latest and greatest hardware that becomes available to them... But for example, on Verizon, the Charge is $300. It could EASILY have been $99.99 and things would be gravy. XPeria Play barely sells at all after a few months and what happens? The price gets chopped in half.
AT&T has the right idea here... now if only the service was worth half of what's being charged (at least in the Baltimore/DC Metro area).

I am not surprised, lots of other 4G phones that are cheap now.
Hp Veer, Sidekick, are some others I can think of. Verizon is charging an arm and half a leg for their LTE phones.
MAybe AT&T thinks 3D is not going to do well, depsite specs of the Thrill 4G

3D is here to stay i think... glassesless 3D tvs will be comming in no time good chance at least 1 by the end of this year if not more and there are ones out in japan already and from there on the tech and viewing angles will just get better and better, sooner or later im sure all screens will be 3D even nav screens in cars they already have a new type of it instead of the barrier its like a second clear layer on the phone that kinda has lil prizms in it to send each angle to each eye thus keeping the screen nice and bright and the res is goin up on them a ton like how this phone is 800x 480 or what ever they are showin ones with 1280 x 720 resolution witch will be brighter in 3D than in 2D.... check it out here.....http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/20/hitachi-announces-high-res-4-5-inch-ips-display-for-smartphones/

Does anyone realize that this is simply a branded version of the dreaded LG OPTIMUS 2X & the troubled T-Mobile G2X... Folks, it is the same device. T-Mobile had so many warranty exchange issues with the device that they were forced to send out brand new models to customers with malfunctioning equipment. They had to stop replacing the G2X with the same model, as there were no more refurbished models. They are now replacing the G2X warranty defective devices with the MyTouch 4G or 4G Slide. Check it out. It's already been reported weeks ago on this same site. It was confirmed for me at a TMO location as well. The $99 price point is to woo customers that are apprehensive to by the 3D device for cheap.
Let's see how this pans out.
