Get a hot phone in more hands... ppl still don't get how strong iPhone's appeal is. It's not the latest, but it works, and the polls say, it works the best. So at&t is smart when it comes to getting big sales. Now, did they plan for the extra kids using data? I hope so...

You know what I think? I think Verizon is doing really well today because all the Verizon Fanboys are not on this website today. They must be busy selling Droids. Be that the case, then I say fantastic job Motorola, Google and Verizon!

now if you look at the storage of the droid the droid has 16gb pre-installed. but i do see this as a plus considering the majority of the people looking for a droid are also looking for an iphone. so good plan

edit: the majority of people who are considering the droid are most probably considering it because its a "woahhh wow phone" (now i'm not stating everyone, and by most i mean 50.2%). who probably would not necessarily care about the 16 gigs of droid, and the 8 gigs of iphone. so, still, att has a good idea on its hands

I'm not an AT&t fan but that's smart. All of the parents that are thinking about getting a kid a phone for christmas will consider buying them the phone they really want since it's only $99. For everyone else competition is always good for the consumer.

But you can already get an 8Gig 3G for 100 bucks. Not much of a difference other than the processor and few other things... for most people, that's not a big difference. I don't see too much of a "WOW!!" factor in this move.

I think its a great idea for apple, if apple really gets $18 per month per iphone from at&t. I think with the fanaticism around the iphone it will be even more of a sales hit. I think it will spell doom for phones like the Palm Pixi. Either way. I hate apple and wish they'd hurry up and screw up bad so people will hate them as much as I do. As for me, I'll probably be picking up a Pixi around the 15th.

i hate all apple products. and apple's CEO is dorky looking. i hate it because it's boring and the design needs to change, i mean it was nice when it came out but hello, now it's just getting old. :-). i still don't understand what's so incredible about it. i like the original iphone design better. the new back is too cheap and gaudy looking. maybe it's just cause i only like exciting looking phones and the iphone does not have an exciting design. and no i'm not jealous. :-J

If you ever took the time to realize all the crazy awesome stuff the iPhone can and will do, it will blow your mind. IMO, you don't like it because VZDub doesn't have it. I think this pitch to beat the droid is funny though. Verizon: We have the iPhone killer! AT&T:We have the iPhone! Who will win? Only time will tell. If you want to sway the odds, I accept money orders.:P
