Sporadic reports across the country reveal that a few lucky iPhone owners have been able to send/receive pictrure messages, but it is a matter of luck until the 25th...

again with the usernames???? What r u a doctor then?? I have no interest in writing a long paragraph of insults just to get back at u so i will just leave it at this.... YOU ARE PATHETIC!!!!

I am pathetic and yet you insist on responding. A word of advice: Don't criticize unless you can receive criticism. And a group hug would do me no good considering the website will still continue to post useless information. The bottom line is that anyone that has the nerve to criticize other people out of the blue shouldn't unless there is a point to the madness.

Hey Doc, can you hold on a second, i need to check this........yup, my first post didnt single you out nor did it even hint that I was talking to you personally. Just take a chill pill man.....i was more or less poking fun at the anti-iphone fanboys, i never once singled out anyone.....

-People post here and SAY the same things because Phone Arena REPORTS the same thing's. In order to help them redeem themselves its necessary that the public speak out against the monotony. Eventually something worth posting about the iPhone will come, but until then, you have "avid" news readers looking to hear something new to get their "Tech Fix". People are genuenly interested in the iPhone and that's what brings them here. But if it always turns out to be the same things, or "OLD NEWS", it's a waste of a readers time. We all know why we are here, at this site, to get NEW information. Wouldn't you complain if you were in New York and every News Paper talked about 9/11? Theres News and then there is "NEW(s)" its called that because its NEW and unheard of. Seems to deface the name in the sense in which it is displayed on Phone Arena. Don't bash the bloggers for wanting something new, It Phone Arena that isn't getting the point.

MMS isn't anything special, you'll have it and use it every once in a while, but that's it.

I like many, am tired of hearing about the media darling iPhone. There's nothing special about it, other than the fact that Apple and AT&T pinned their businesses on the device and had a mad dash of advertisements. "Now on the iPhone, you can cut and paste"...I laugh every time I see that one. No MMS after 2 years? My Nextel phone on a so called "outdated" iDEN network can MMS! Give me a break. Every iPhone event in the world is charted on this site, but entire carriers such as Cellular South and SouthernLinc are neglected. The breakdown of Alltel's former market isn't reported on at all. ATN, an entirely new network which will come at the end of the year has no mention on the site. Give it up. The iPhone is a fad, and AT&T doesn't have another answer to keep up with Verizon. When Verizon rolls out LTE, it'll be "AT and who? The what phone?"

31. tflex posted on 18 Sep 2009, 01:07

I dont know if ur aware that att will be going LTE too, just a little later than verizon...And the reason y there are so many iphone posts is because there are alot of iphone users who might find some of the information useful....U mentioned that theres nothing special about the iphone???? I thought so too until i bought one...No other phone performs like it and the speed of it is unmatchable....watch some youtube videos on the iphone side by side comparisons with other high end phones and ull see for urself....Oh and what other phone has over 65,000 apps for it??? That all said, is what is special about the iphone...

Your comment on At&t's upgrading to LTE networks is well taken. They, like Verizon, will have more LTE coverage than any other carrier before it is all said and done. There's no question about that. My point is that if PhoneArena can report on every little detail that comes out about the iPhone, how can they completely leave out entire networks and sections of news regarding new carriers and exchanges? There is more to the world of cell phones than the iPhone, and that was the main point I was trying to make. As far as the iPhone's apps, you can prove anything you want with statistics. Understanding the context of those statistics is where the real information is. How many of those apps are merely upgrades to apps? How many of them are outdated or not in regular use anymore? What are the most common apps that iPhone users download, and what is the performance of those applications? Stating that the phone has 65,000 doesn't mean very much. Let's compare this. There are two users, A has the iPhone, B has another smartphone. B has 10 apps on his phone, and has access to only 30. A has 10 on his phone ,and has access to 65,000. Both have the exact same apps. If B has no trouble using his 10, but A cannot get 3 of them to work right, or has to constantly upgrade them, who is getting better performance? You can flip it and make it vice versa as well. The point is that merely stating a phone has 65,000 apps does not make it a great phone. In regards to speed, you give no circumstances as to how and where the speed is "unmatchable". Have you compared it to the other carriers top smartphones? To At&t's other top smartphones? Which phones had 2G or 3G? In what places? There are iPhone users in my area who brag constantly that they have a 3G phone, not even knowing that At&t doesn't provide 3G services here. They line up next to me to compare their iPhone's with my Nextel Blackberry, and then shake their heads when my wifi internet connection is faster than theirs. The iPhone is not without it's share of flaws, and neither is At&t's network; 2G or 3G. There is no circumstancial evidence available to either prove or disprove that the iPhone is a superior phone to all others. The hype behind the phone is absurd for this reason.

Even if u trimmed the app number from 65,000 down to only 10,000, the iphone still has the most apps developed for it although blackberry is trying real hard to catch up, they are only at 2000....As for those side by side comparisons, Ive seen the iphone3gs against the iphone 3g, storm, pre, omnia, G1 and probly more that i cant remember...They were all running on their networks own 3g service so i dont think that it has anything to do with location or even network as it does the device itself....Now that the iphone will have mms, all it will need is multi -tasking and then it would definately be a 10 out of 10....its a very fast and powerful device...and u said there is no proof or disproof, arent the videos on youtube and other sites proof enough???Do u really think that every person who reviewed the iphone and did these comparisons have a conspiracy against other networks and/or phones???? It is what it is man...Iphone is still king..

36. knuckleballer34 posted on 18 Sep 2009, 14:10

Your own statement is proof that the phone is not superior to all other devices. Once it will have mms and multi-tasking, then it will be a 10 out of 10? At&t has already come out with 3 of these phones, that is proof enough that the device, despite constant upgrades, is not by any means perfect or superior. By the time a person is six months into their contract, their "superior" iPhone is outdated. Have you seen the performance of these phones side by side in various locations? One cannot disregard the notion that location is important. Youtube videos and website reviews often offer biased or unrealistic reviews of a particular device, whether private or professional. At&t's 3G network isn't without it's problems, which can be well read up on. A phone's performance often times is only as good as the network it runs on. Using your example, the iPhone and At&t's service might be the best combination of a phone and a service provider. In other areas, it may not be. Where I currently reside, Verizon just brought 3G services to the area. Everyone here has been going nuts about it, but because these people overloaded the network, it is actually slower than the 1XRTT services now. Location, infrastructure, network, and phone model are all important in determining which particular phone is a cut above the rest, not just the phone itself. Again, the iPhone is a great device, but is not without its flaws and isn't a clear cut winner because of the various factors that go into affecting a phones overall performance among all of it's consumers.
