The HTC Inspire 4G doesn't have all the dual-core hype around it, but nevertheless it is a great phone, especially for that sweet price of $99. And now AT&T shows its performance and main features in under a minute in the latest ad for the Inspire 4G…

I still see nothing special about this phone. In fact, practically every Android phone coming out now is exactly the same. Where are the stand out features like a 12MP camera with Xenon flash AND dual LED's and a good camera shutter button?

Geez. Why dont you just go get a dang camera if you want all that.. What the heck is wrong with people today??LOL

Why would I get a camera when I could have a great camera in a phone. Have you ever heard of the N8? I own one, and you don't need a camera once you have it. It's that good. I want an Android phone to take its place, but there isn't one out there yet that has convinced me its worth buying. They're all the same. 5MP mediocre camera, 720p mediocre recording, no dual mics for superb audio recording, mediocre audio quality, 1.2GHz dual core, 4"+ WVGA display, micro HDMI, no camera shutter button, etc. At least properly made camera centric device would stand out. And no, that Altek Leo is crap. I've seen the camera results. Even the SE Xperia Arc is a half assed attempt at a camera device. It's like Google has told them not to get involved in the camera wars because they know Nokia has the upper hand in that department.

Why don't you start your own company and build a phone to your specs? Ya whiny brat!

You don't have idea what are you talking about.
Altek Leo's camera has its own OS, Android don't.
Altek Leo has a CCD dual core processor image Sunny9 with 3x optical zoom. I have an Altek T8680 and I take awesome pictures. Altek Leo improves T8680's camera + 720p HD video.
Android has not control over camera performance.
It is possible that someone who has taken photos, have no idea to handle the Altek camera controls ... I know how.
Altek Leo crap?. Crap are you. Before writting nonsense opinions, first get informed.

so you prefer to carry an 0.9 in. thick camera in your tiny pocket and a 0.9 in. thick phone in the other everyday???(unless you carry a purse) wow your really bawd minded, and why would a camera company waste more resources(lenses, batteries, expensive material ...ect) when they can partner with a phone comp and put their tiny 12 mp cams on their phone and make the phone comp. deal with the resource??? stop trying to make others look dumb because your the idiot and also...everyone thinks different, i didn't know we had access to your mind and think like you??? retard. BTW what he said is a suggestion(did you not see the "where" and the "?") if you knew English you would have catch that.

P.S. my comment was toward Das70 and the "Dude"

Now you are being ignorant.(read the entire thread stupid)Im not against that type of stuff on a phone. But people whining that they want a "same price as everything else" phone with a 12mp camera is just getting way over the top. Consumers today are so "I want it now" mentality.
There is no way right now you will get a 12mp camera, with xenon flash and a quality camera shutter button on a smartphone today for a cheap price. Maybe in a couple years but not now. People need to stop worrying about what can or will be in a couple years down the road and be happy with the "everything but the kitchen sink" cell phones we have now.

Isn't every windows phone the same, isn't every iphone the same, etc. Have you heard of the atrix. You do realize a 12mp camera on a phone is not gonna make a huge difference to most consumers.
5. DontHateOnS60 (Posts: 864; Member since: 20 Apr 2009)
The camera makes or breaks the phone for me. These Android manufacturers need something that stands out to consumers. An N8 like 12MP camera would def stand out and consumers would definitely jump on it, especially if it were the same price as everything else.

Dude. You cant have your cake and eat it too. If you want a 12mp camera with xenon flash and a good shutter button, you are going to pay for it. Why would you think it would cost the same as a 5mp??? I would expect at least a $299 contract price on a phone like that. Again, just go buy a quality camera if its that important ot you. Sad that a phone is just no longer a phone to so many people. They want everything and the sun on it today.

Have you looked at the direction of the phone market? It's always been moving towards having more than just a phone. Look at everything coming out today. Look at the N95 which started the whole "yes you can have your cake and eat it too." And I doubt it would go for $299 if things were properly negotiated between manufacturer and carrier. Even if it were $249, look how well the Epic 4G sold on Sprint. I'd be more than happy to drop that money, and those people who buy iPhone 4 32GB's have no trouble dropping $299, so even if it were that much, people would still get it.

I paid $1,200 for my SE SATIO , and my nexus one at $519. damn i'm stupid lol. I guess $200 ,$300 dollars isn't so bad after all huh ?

From what I've read above why isn't basic phone feature most important? Camera and buttons and apps are cool but what about phone calls? I want a cool device but also the ability to make calls. That's the most important.
This goes to the AT&T haters too. Why complain about dropping calls of all you do is text anyway? People need to remember what phones were like just 8 years ago. Compared to that we're in cell phone heaven. Be happy with what we have now! If you're still not happy go invent a time machine, go to the future, bring back something nice. (that is if the world economy exists in the future)
10. DontHateOnS60 (Posts: 864; Member since: 20 Apr 2009)
Tell Apple that the basic phone feature is the most important. You want the best phones for actual phone calls? Nokia and RIM are the companies to go to.

I'm sorry but this is a 4g(not rly 4g lol) phone for $99 w/2yr contract. You can't bitch and moan because it doesn't have a diamond encrusted at&t emblem on it. This is a heck of a deal for someone who wants to get 4g access and not go broke in the process. Not sure how this is a bad thing.

did someone forget to take their meds this morning?
20. DontHateOnS60 (Posts: 864; Member since: 20 Apr 2009)
nope. just pissed off that at&t won't pick up a decent smartphone.

do your research the 4G rules have been changed plenty of times, thats why T-Mobiles supposedly "4G" HSPA+ is officially 4G and ATT is using the same HSPA+ tech. stop hating because you can't have some of ATT's speeds. and ATT will be the best network(currently actually) since they will rely on HSPA+ for talk and data when LTE (verizons 4g is the same LTE ) isnt available in the future but Verizon, when LTE is not in coverage they will fall back to CDMA 2g for talk 3g tech EVDO REV-A for Data. again do your research. stop dissing on ATT.

man for $100 why talk shit about this phone..the EVO on Sprint is still $200..AT&T is coming hard this year

Phone actually seemed a little laggy, but I'm sure that that was just the video and not the phone itself. I find it kind of funny that this phone has a launcher is almost the same launcher on the myTouch slide and myTouch 4G.

No wonder people can't stand Nokia fan boys, because they comment about Nokia when the article has nothing negative or positive about them. I'm a Nokia fan boy but Oh My God is that annoying. No one said this phone is the ultimate phone and is the end all be all of phones. It's a good mid-range 4G device that many people will be able to use since not everyone needs a high end smartphone but still do. I in no way like HTC but that doesn't mean it doesn't fit a niche market.

I THINK(its an opinion dont reply your hatred) HTC is the best phone manufacture when it comes to UI and phone built quality but their phone designs are keep being repeated. HTC starting to think ur going apple on me and limit ur physical features :( [sorry iphone 4 ur qwertyless, 5mp cam, small screen, square body, one home button, adobe flashles, battery consuming, weak signals are not going to impress me ]

For all of you AT&T owners....What is your ideal phone? What would you want it to look like? What features would you want it to have? Give me your ideas?
