Depends what state you are in - most states charge taxes based upon price purchased at - not CA, NV, LA, or NY - I believe.....someone check that.

Not sure about the other states. But I know CA charges tax based on the full retail price. Like you said though, most states charge tax based on the purchase price.

most taxes are on purchase price. california is run by a bunch of big government lunatics that think they have the right to every penny u make.

No taxes were I'm from. I've bought so many things off line and I have never been taxed. Now.... I gotta go find a penny. :)

Oregon doesn't have taxes, buddy. We're safe! :)
Man, a Focus S for one cent? This is great. Thanks PA. I was about to get it Saturday for $200, but I can wait another week. That $200 can go towards a Xbox360 :)

so.. your going to pay nearly double a month to get a free phone on contract? you do know that Tmobile is having a huge sale on saturday. phones are free or nearly free after rebate (the SGS2 and Amaze are 50 bux) and u can get unlimited everything for 60 for one phone or 100 for 2 phones.

(Lowers head).Yeah premature celebration and excitement.I went and checked out ATT plans and realized that they separate everything and I'm not $85 plus a month for cell phone use and I'm not spending an arm and a leg for the Focus or Titan. So looks like I'm going back to the Radar. However, for the T-Mobile sale is doesn't make sense to me. It says I pay $50 and then have to pay 20 payments of $15 for the Radar?! I just bought it last week for $170 w/ a $50 mail in rebate so I don't understand how this is a deal.

no no.. there is a 1 day only sale tomorrow (sat). Basically they are droping the prices of the phones on the value plan to next to nothing.
I mentioned the SGS2 because its nearly 520 (220 down+ monthly installments). Tomorrow it will be ONLY 200 period, and have a 150 rebate.. so the total price all said and done will be 50 bux.. and still on the super cheap value plan.
Dont quote me on the radar, but i believe it will be 150 with a 100 or 150 rebate. If i remember correctly its free after rebate on the value plan.. but at worst its 50 bux.
ALL SMARTPHONES are on sale tomorrow. the most expencive ones are 50 bux after rebate. On the value plan which is $60 for unlimited everything.

Well thanks for clearing that up cause one ad I saw said you put $50 down and then pay 20 monthly installments of ___ on top of your regular bill depending on what phone you got. That\'s the only \"sale\" I saw.

Just when I had decided to dump AT&T for the umpteenth time....
I am truly pumped for the Windows Phones on AT&T on Saturday. (Sorry, remixfa- no T-Mobile in my 'Burb.) My wife was leaning to the Vivid, but for about 149.99$ less theTitan (which is set to be released on Sunday just in time for this sale) will be just fine. I will get to choose between the S and the Titan. I was also kinda digging the Atrix 2 for the price. And of course we both were choosing devices to dump AT&T and head to Verizon. But, I will trust on my preference for WP and just hope for the ESPN radio App to maket it to the Windows Marketplace in the next two years along with the few other apps I will miss.
Sorry Verizon- looks like you do not get to cash my checks just yet.

By the way, Alan F., why no shortcuts to the Focus S, Focus Flash, or the HDH7S under "related devices"? Some new readers may actually want to look up the WP devices on sale to get the skinny on them as well as the Blackberries and Androids on sale. I am not sayin, I am just sayin....

I got mine for free last Christmas because I never upgrade through AT&T. Do people think that's their only option?
