Back late last month, we passed along to you the word that AT&T would start accepting pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S4
on April 16th. That part, at least, was correct. But for some reason that may never be explained, the carrier posted that pre-orders would be $249.99 with a signed two year contract
. While some were upset, considering that most carriers are thinking about ways to wean the public
off subsidized pricing of new handsets, no one thought twice about this. $249.99 for the Samsung Galaxy S4 might have seemed a little pricey, but it could be understood in the current environment.
As it turns out, AT&T wasn't making a statement with its pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S4 after all. The mobile operator had merely left out a few words from its statement. Nothing important mind you, just that the $249.99 price was for the 32GB version
of the upcoming Android phone. The 16GB model will be priced at the expected $199.99 with a signed contract. AT&T has yet to announce a launch date for the phone.
