AT&T resorts to a cute kitten for Samsung Infuse 4G ads: "colors so realistic, it's almost unreal"

You might think that if a company resorts to cute kittens for promoting its products, it's either that the product is in dire need to sell or the company has some brilliant marketing. In this case, we're inclined to think it's the second…

It is funny to me that Sprint was the first to use the cats/kittens theme for commercials, and now AT&T is joining the fray... Verizon is my least favorite network provider, but apparently Sprint and AT&T must stoop to cats and kittens in their advertising to compete!

There has been TONS of market research done that bears out that humor, babies, kittens, and puppies always play well in marketing. Consumers remember those things that make them chuckle or go "awwww". If my wife watches this ad, she will want to run right out and buy one. Phone, I hope. She freaking has enough cats.

By the way, I still laugh every time I see the Infuse commercial with the guy beating the crap out of the phone with the screen saver of the spider!!

Maybe the murky, yellowish left hand side of the screen at low brightness adds to the realism. Or the banding effects confuse the poor beasts into thinking its liquid. Or the stupid power saving option in the display menu is switched on, so every time something happens on the screen it keeps getting brighter and darker. That's gonna confuse any animal, humans included :D

The SGS2 is a great phone and these commercials are great, but I think it's a bit cheeky to keep banging on about how perfect the screen is when clearly either a. its not, or b. there are some manufacturing issues. I've seen over 10 and they all have the same probs. But hey (and like most) I just suck it up cos its the best there is.
