AT&T puts up website to help keep the personal information on your phone safe

In an attempt to stop the rising number of cell phone thefts, AT&T has put up a website that gives consumers information on what steps to take to lower the chance that the peronal information on their phone will be obtained illegally; the site also gives a list of things victims can do once their cell phone has been stolen...

Good, now we also need to stop the SMS spamming - it has become an epidemic and it is largely donw by those with prepaid phones. Maybe update the donotcall.gov website to become the donotcontact.gov website.

Carrier should aslo be aware that a lot lost and stolen reported is false by user. I see quite a few buy insurance for the phone then call the carrier as lost or stolen, then turn around sell it to someone else.

Good job AT&T. I hope other carriers follow suit.

The warning is correct. In a thief's eyes, someone with a smartphone (especially an iDevice) is carrying around several hundred of "their" dollars
