How about AT&T&T

Hmmm. You VZW folks have never been able to experience the ability to do both voice and data at the same time. A worthless feature you say, try talking to someone on your BB Tour and then have them send you a picture message from that party you went to last night. Pretty funny huh? Oh wait...I can't recieve a picture message while I'm on my phone with VZW because I can't do both voice and data at the same time. Well, there was that important business call I had to take, good thing I had all the information I needed in the email that my partner sent me so I didn't look total foolish on the call...wait-I cant even get an email while I'm talking on my VZW Android Phone, so I guess I really am going to have to look stupid. That's Ok, my BB Storm (the perfect device that it is) tethers wonderfully to my new laptop. This way I can log on and play dominoes or do whatever and...hang on, I have a call coming in...hey wait a minute, I just lost my internet connection. Damit I forgot, this use to happen to my grandma all the time when she had that, er uh, dial up internet service that only allowed you to do one ore the other. Well at least LTE is coming soon and we will be the first to have it. Although, I still won't be able to have two numbers from two different areas programmed to my SIM like those GSM guys, or get my picture messages while on a phone call or...well the good thing is we will be the first to have it and that's what matters. ps-I never wanted a stinkin Iphone, but man me and all the other folks in here were just clamoring for a divice like the Bold and the Curve. One out of two aint bad.

With LTE you can make phone calls and do data transmission with any network. LTE runs completely independent of HSPA/+ and CDMA, so both carriers will be able to do voice and data at the same time. The sim card is for activation purpose's and swap out sim's with mutiple numbers/phones. So I don't understand where that arguement is. GSM 3G networks can do voice and data atm, internet and voice quality severly diminishes though as you are using the network for both services now. Majority of people will not do this as the call is more important than anything else. But when LTE releases what advantage will GSM providers in the states have? None.

Correction my friend, LTE will have limited voice/data capability. I experience no reduction in voice or datat quality while using both. If you are a VZW user, I don't see how you contest the argument that it's not important if you don't currently do it yourself. That is limited thinking, just because you don't currently have the functionality now, don't discount it please. Further more, LTE is a standard that both GSM and CDMA carriers will be using with a few exceptions of course. Don't quickly discount what you havent used as something useless. And yes, when LTE rolls out we will just have to wait and see, but keep in mind all LTE is going to do offer features that GSM has been able to do for some time (video calling on Nokia E71). Yes it works (not supported by the carreir) but it I've enjoyed the service personally. LTE, welcome to the world of GSM...finally.

So then, by your arguement, your life is going to get pretty shitty when your precious network FINALLY gets around to rolling out its LTE network I guess. Man, that's gotta suck for you...you know, having such a great 3G network now (and by your standards) actually getting worse when LTE is the standard. Man, that's rough. LTE is the NEXT generation of the the telecom industry. Usually the tech that comes AFTER a current one, is superior, otherwise it wouldn't be considered "next gen" (4G). Geez, you're an idiot. And personally, I've never needed or wanted to get data while I'm on a call. Usually when I'm on a call, I'm LISTENING to what the person on the other end is actually talking about...you know, it's that little thing called etiquette.

I had an lg dare with Verizon and i could talk on my phone and recieve picture messages at the same time... So before you start saying false crap, you should get your facts straight first. Its kinda like this lame commercial all opinion no facts!!!!

wow at&t wow. really????? you can afford a pretty well known actor but not better graphics? really? wow my 5yr old brother could make a better commercial then ya'll could. my advice to at&t grow some balls then come back to the fight.

44. zr1vette posted on 19 Nov 2009, 20:31

also at&t you did nothing to prove that you have the fastest 3g network and failed to state that those 100,000 apps are mostly iphone apps.

46. YouLostTheGame posted on 19 Nov 2009, 22:19

Oh there's no "mostly" about it my friend; they're ALL iPhone apps. Which again, is a good point that someone else already brought up...ATT doesn't even have those 100k apps; Apple does. And when the iPhone opens up to other carriers next year, those other carriers will also have those 100k apps. Poor poor ATT. All those subs and really nothing to show for it!

I've got to say, as a VZW employee, this commercial makes me chuckle.

pretty lame commercial considering they compare verizons 3g data coverage area to there calling area. Its a pretty lame attempt to cover up the fact that there 3g area is almost none existant. The only thing att has is the iphone, and once that becomes obsolete they will be stuck with nothing again.
