Will this lead to no more minutes? and maybe we will have data-only plans!?!?!? :P

"and maybe we will have data-only plans!?!?!?"
Absolutely. Got to find some new way to rape the customer's wallet.

one way to grasp money out customer. FYI, the average voice on data is 1mb/mins and can you image carrier offer plan like 300mb/$15 like ATT charge now and monthly you use like 1200mins. That's $60, the unlimited everything today on gophone is $50 . That's not include all social apps you are burning data on top of.

good thing I'm grandfathered into the "unlimited" plan :P

verizon will find a way to jack up the price it its data only. the only carrier that could benefit from this is sprint with their untrhottled unlimited data, if only they could improve their signal everywhere.

Tiered data plans are already in effect for AT&T and Verizon. Your plans will start to eat data and cost more to the consumer in the long run. Why do you think that AT&T and Verizon eliminated unlimited data in lieu of tiered shared data.
Don't for a minute think that it was because of band width. Verizon's VP Shammo said it in a stock holders conference call that When Voip is implemented Verizons 49% profits will be higher for obvious reasons. This means that shared tiered data will cost the consumer more when Voice and data travel over VOIP!
It will be like getting in a cab here in NYC the meter will be running when texting calling, surfing, and down loading information from Google Play.

Hmmm....maybe this is why Verizon keeps calling me to try to get me to dump my unlimited data plan for a Shared plan. I would save money.....between $40 and $100.....but I would also lose unlimited data.

maybe...just maybe, we will see the return of unlimited... maybe. but doubtful.
one way they might do it is to give people two separate data accounts. one for minutes and one for data. this way if u use all your data surfing, you can stil call without getting overages. itll suck trying to ration.

Yea...I think the question on most ppl's mind that has been keeping up with VoLTE is does it use our data plans. And if so how much.
If I have unlimited talk....I had it before the Share plans.....I should have unlimited data to go with it if VoLTE uses our data plans. Its gonna be insane to have unlimited talk and tiered data plans.

It encompasses data, calling texting all over IP protocol. It is inevitable that it will cost more. When some one call it will be data usage when you text or download it will be data usage. Surfing the web will be data usage.
Imagine a family of 4 talking, texting downloading, surfing the web listening to music or watching movies over VOIP.....it will cost them an arm and a leg when it is over.
All of you guys that have been cheerleading Verizon,, and AT&T for getting their LTE coverage out so fast failed to notice that you are being pushed into plans that benefit you only today, and your tomorrow will cost you an arm a leg and maybe a kidney.
This is a fact so before knocking me go research how the tiered data works and how VOIP will affect its cost. I bet if you asked Verizon or AT&T they will tell you that I am correct!
