How does that improve the service?????? What that means is that the network isn't capable of handling the needs of thier customers.... It's already been proven that it couldn't and still can't.....

I like how most ppl think they're all of a sudden economic forecasters for these companies. When the iPhone exclusivity leaves at&t, they're nowhere near done. I have yet to hear about a CDMA or LTE version of the iPhone running around, at least spy shot-wise; the closest thing is that iPhone mini/ nano/ w/e you want to call it. You see, at&t will still be in a good position because they're one of only two GSM carriers in the US, the iPhone is still a "GSM only" phone, and Tmo's network might not be able handle the data usage of the iPhone. So, as of now, even when at&t loses it's exclusivity, it will still be the best carrier to handle the iPhone in the US.

Please tell me you'r joking. It wouldn't be a big deal at all to swap in a new dual chipset from Qualcomm into Apple's phone. And then, voila! You have a iPhone World Phone on VZW. It's not as hard, or unreasonable as you make it out to be. The swap could be simple, and then consumers win as having even more choice, and like the "analyst" says, more than likely prices would come plumeting down. I say bring on the VZW iPhone. I'll be very surprised if one isn't available for big red 3Q 2010.

How is losing iPhone customers going to put up more 3G coverage and/or improve voice coverage? You guys are funny. fyi, when an iPhone customer leaves a cell tower doesn't pop up in their place.

YouLostTheGame, I believe artz was only stating that he has never seen any report or rumor of a CDMA version. I read many of the phone websites and also have never even heard rumor of a CDMA version either. With so many people involved in the manufacture of parts for a phone it seems we would get some sort of leak if something were in the works. NOT that you are wrong, it should be pretty easy to set up a world edition iPhone, but I think we would get a leak from somewhere......

Ok well first off Apple hired CDMA researchers over a year ago, almost 2 years ago. with that fact out there (if you dont believe and can get a hold of either apples employment records or posts from a year to 2 years ago on this site you will see) an iphone is eminent for vzw or sprint. as far as tmoble they share the same towers as att for the most part, not all but most cases were one has one the other doesnt and they have agreements to share each others towers. the nice thing is that the iphone will finally be on a network that can support all its functionality. we all know that verizon will be the next get it and i would put money on it since it has the strongest largest and straight up the best network out there and that is what apple wants is the LTE to really show how powerful the iphone can be. As for me personally the iphone will never be in my hands until it has a PHYSICAL KEYBOARD!!!! I absolutely love the touch screen interface and the iphone is one of the best but i can not stand texting or emailing from it. just straight up blows!!! So for now and most likely for a long time the Droid or Future models of android with full keyboard phones cuz windows mobile is outdated and worthless and blackberrys just blow unless your company runs a blackberry enterprise server. So Apple if you can hear me and the many others out there you would have me for life if the next gen Iphone had a slide out qwerty keyboard!!! say what you want but i have been around the scene for over 10 years and have seen the changes and i am very excited for the future of wireless and the Iphone's emergence onto VZW.
