Technically, this is a rumor, but according to sources it is red-hot and accurate. A couple weeks ago, we learned of October 21st being a threshold date...

How bad AT&T that many cried foul over this announcement?

As far as my understanding goes, people didn't complain about the phone coming to AT&T, they complained about it being an AT&T exclusive.

Its not ATT friend. Its the hassle involved if you want L920. But for some, it is ATT.

AT&T and verizon's phones are incompatible. verizon uses CDMA (no SIMs) and AT&T uses the global standard GSM (SIM cards). There might be a way (though I doubt it) to hack a phone to make it work on either LTE network (since verizon uses SIMs for LTE connectivity), but that would be data only anyway, and you'd still.have to pay for the voice plan, so not much point.
I look forward to the day when all carriers are compatible with each other (like in Europe) so they customer acquires whatever phone they want either from the manufacturer or their carrier, and there would be low-cost roaming agreements, so a customer would have little cause to switch due to coverage unless they were moving to an area that their main carrier didn't cover.

The Nokia 822 for Verizon is real and supposed to be upgraded 820 with better screen resolution and pureview on board and exclusive to Verizon. I've been hearing this for a while but its all rumor at this point.

oh well as long as they will get the lumia 820 it will be good but still! 920 is the most awesome camera smartphone next to 808 pureview!!!

I agree it should be on every carrier they can, but Verizon hasn't really had much of a relationship with Nokia, whereas GSM carriers (Nokia's wheelhouse) like AT&T and T-Mobile have. I am disappointed that Nokia is losing out on a base of about 200 million subscribers due to exclusivity, but I am hopeful the next flagship (with PureView phase 3) is universal.

Again, I have posted in a few places that I would not be surprised to see Big Red get it's own 920 varient after a short exclusive time period on AT&T. Nokia needs sales. They see Verizon and the number of customers (110 million or so last I checked, with AT&T at over 90 million, Sprint pushing between 55 and 60 Million, T-Mo at 44 Million and maybe dropping a few) and sees a cash flow they cannot afford not to compete for.
Let's let this play out. Give Verizon and Nokia a little time.

People say the 1st question an ATT salesperson asks a customer is:
"Can I help you? We have the new iPhone in stock"
So good luck 920.

I'm an AT&T customer and frequent store visitor (not just my nearby one) and I've never been asked about my interest in apple phones. After hearing I'm there to browse or looking to play with something specific that is typically sufficient. I did have a rep at a big box store ask if I was interested in the Galaxy S3 last week, though after I told him I was holding out for the Lumia 920 he understood.

I have AT&T and honestly I couldnt be happier. I don't live in a metro area and I get great service.. Anyone complaining about there pricing hasn't seen big reds pricing. Theirs is at least a third more for the same package. I do think it's a bad idea that this wonderful phone is exclusive but I'm not reading too much into it yet because Im certain there will be a variant of it on another carrier

Agreed, though I do live in a metro area. I would have to be paid to use Verizon, and someone else would have to foot the bill.as well. Their policies stink, they've happily made themselves THE most expensive nationwide major carrier, their nom-LTE speeds are atrocious, and even their LTE speeds (from speed tests in my area) are slower than AT&T and T-Mobile.

I think AT&T has improved. I was so sick of them, I was willing at one point to pay an ETF to bolt. But cooler heads (my Wife, I was out voted 1-1) prevailed, we held on, and AT&T has worked hard to improve their service and their customer experince.
Now, their customer experience still leaves a lot to be desired, but it is better. And their network is for real getting better.

I plan to get it from gizmotakeout. If good will change over from Big Red to ATT

I hope to see a price point for the 920 at no more than 150.00 on contract, maybe 500.00 - 550.00 off contract. They need sales, and pricing it at GS3 and iPhone pricing is suicide. I can see them needing it to be more than the 99.00 the 900 was at, but until they are established they need a hook to get the average buyer interested.

im from mexico and i will have this phone until next year..is always like that, still mexico is one of nokias favorite countries, remember they sold n9 in here. the crazy thing is that we pay lot more for phone than the U.S. like if we want a GSIII we have to pay about 400dls to get it on a plan for 18 months at least and with a monthly payment of 45 to 60dls.
