AT&T has network problems?

Just spoke with AT&T customer in CA about 10 min. ago, and she stated she heard an AT&T spokesman on TV last night (9/24/11) that AT&T has been affected by the satellite than fell to earth. According to her, the person stated that many people are out of service, while others will have strange things happening with their service. He also stated they have "no clue - what, or where" the main problem is, but are working deligently, 24 hours, to ascertain what, where, and repairing the problem as quickly as possible!
