AT&T giving Windows Mobile owners free Wi-Fi in preparation for WM 6.5
With anticipation rising already for the eventual launch of Windows Mobile 6.5, AT&T is prepping for it by offering free Wi-Fi service to select Windows Mobile owners. So far there is no official confirmation about what AT&T WM smartphones will come packed with 6.5, but the official launch of October 6 is getting closer. Starting September 14, customers who own a Wi-Fi enabled Windows Mobile smartphone and have a qualifying unlimited data plan will get free Wi-Fi access to over 20,000 AT&T HotSpots across the country – which includes Starbucks. So it seems like there may be some perks to owning a device from the looks of it. In either case, make sure your Wi-Fi radio is active so it'll connect automatically thanks to auto-authentication on the devices.
